Very good mixed fried seafood in a cup served with hot polenta at the bottom. We also tried the grilled squid served with fried polenta and the octopus salad. Everything tasted great and good portions for the price.

The calamari e cambari was really good, light on the breading, fresh seafood. Finding a good meal in Venice was tricky but this is solid take-away food.

Awesome stop for a treat. Yay!.. I went here on a rainy day when the hubs wasn’t feeling too well so he stayed home and it was a great treat to have while I was out playing photographer. I had the mixed seafood cup and it was made fresh to order and was hot, perfectly seasoned and delicious… I enjoyed this very much… Originally it wasn’t on my list as I wasn’t planning on walking thru this area but was so glad I remembered it. So worth stopping for a nice treat. All the servers I talked to were very nice and welcoming. Delicious!

Sometimes in life you’re trapped in a tourist city as a student and you have no food options other than the student cafeteria. You find yourself in Italy, but you’re in a city where delicious food is hard to come by. Then there comes a beautiful delicious solution… Acqua è maís! This place is situated between Campiello dei meloni and campo San Polo. San Silvestro stop on the Grand Canal, if you like the scenic route. This is home cooked street food with absolutely fresh ingredients, made by real Veneziani. One word: CALAMARI! The lasagnas are dynamite, but not for everyday consumption. If you don’t know where to eat the food after you buy it, and if standing while eating does not appeal to you, keep walking towards the opposite direction of C. Dei meloni and you’ll come across Campo S. Polo, which not only has benches in the shade but also a nice water fountain or you can wash your hands. Then, try the ice cream booth in S Polo, best ice cream in Venice. **a word of advice to traveling Americans: Italian is not at all Spanish. Learn to order the calamari or other food before you walk in. It’s a sign of respect. «DOO-eh Kony Dee calamari Pehr FAH-voh-reh.» You can do this!

4.5 euros to get a cone of fried seafood. And this is some solid fried seafood, as the fried calamari, shrimp, and polenta cake are perfectly crispy without feeling heavy and making you feel gross. Also just a fun snack because, let’s face it, everything tastes better when in cone form. We saw this walking around and new we had to grab it, and I’d say it’s a worthwhile snack to nab while roaming the streets of Venice. There are other options too, mostly seafood based, but the big seller here seemed to be the seafood cones. Run by a family, apparently being passed down to the son right now so they are quite friendly and helpful.

I gave it 5 stars for the value because it was a little hole in the wall that served amazing take away food For 4.5 euros I had the most delicious calamari. Infact, we went back for more 10 minutes later. There were other yummy choices– grilled squid, lasagna, etc… The friendly service was also a big plus!
