I had the margherita pizza here and it was very good. Ate way more slices that I thought I would.

Aquil Nera is kind of hidden along one of the back canals of Venice. My friends and I came in at around 7 on a Friday(which happened to be my birthday!) and the place was pretty empty. I’m not sure if it was because it was still a tad early to be eating dinner, or if it was a touristy place, or if it was maybe a combination of the two. As a part of my goal to have a glass of vino each day during my stay in Italy(the wine just isn’t as good back at home! And I was on vacation! So I have an excuse for this!), I decided to go with Aquil Nera’s house white wine. I’m normally not a fan of whites but I figured I should opt for this since I was planning to have seafood for dinner. The wine was actually pretty good! It did pair well with the seafood risotto I ordered. But the risotto was a little bit bland. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing either. If you have the time/energy to look for another place to eat, do so. But if not, this place isn’t too shabby.
