Hotel Canada was one of a few places I was able to book the last minute in the location I wanted. It is close enough to walk to San Marcos and other main areas. You will need a GPS to find this place tho. Streets in Venice are very complicated. The room had three single beds. Everything is pretty basic… the size was okay. The bathroom was disappointing as the water pressure for the shower was very low, not hot enough and the shower booth had mold all over. The stay came with a free breakfast but it was a joke. Only coffee and bread lol My husband kept asking me when we were going to get eggs and bacon. So I told him«I think this is it honey.» His response was«Oh, I would have waited all day, if you weren’t here to tell me that.» Wi-fi is not free. I believe it was like 3 euro for 2hrs. What a rip off. I understand Venice is known for expensive hotels but nothing fancy. But what I got was a motel 6 at best for 250 dollars a night.

I decided to stay an extra night in Venice. My hotel was booked, but they kindly set me up with a room here. They negotiated the rate and the room, and took me there the day before to make the reservation official. The owner(an old Italian man) took a photocopy of my passport and I offered to pay. He said that was all he needed, and so that was that. I then arrived at 3pm the next day… he had given the room to someone else and the only room was double the price. Not acceptable business practices. He could have called the hotel where I was staying… I had offered to pay. I think he said that«I wasn’t here by noon» which is why he gave it away, but he didn’t tell me to arrive before noon, so whatever. I found another place to stay.

Ein kleines, feines Hotel in der Nähe der Rialtobrücke. Zwar etwas lauter aber dafür eben mitten drin! Teils sehr günstige Angebote für Venedig. Wir waren rundum zufrieden :)
