The food here is amazing! Everything tastes fresh and the menu changes on a daily basis. We got off to a rocky start at first when 3 tables of 2 and one table of 6 were seated before us when we had a reservation and arrived early. We had tried to eat there 2 days prior, arriving right when it opened and was completely empty but were told that there was no way we could be seated. So it was a little frustrating when we made a reservation and then still had to wait a while for a table. As long as you make a reservation and don’t mind waiting to sit, I highly recommend this place. I had the vegetable lasagna and lamb meatballs, my bf had the pumpkin flan and pork dish. The menu was in Italian but the waiter explained each dish in English for us. Oh and we did get a complementary glass of prosecco while waiting for our table. Really fresh, amazing food that is different from what’s around.

This is a wonderful spot for lunch or dinner. The menu has some excellent vegetarian selections. The service was very good and the overall atmosphere delightful.

This place get’s booked fast! We waited for 2 days to get a table… Not sure why… Server was rushing us in the beginning and didn’t let us have time to look over the menu. We felt rushed into choosing our meal. We told her we were vegetarian and she just said«pasta» — but the menu was in Italian so a little help would’ve been nice to help us choose. Lasagna wasn’t good at all, I should’ve ordered something else. Only good thing = Tagliatelle pasta sauce was great!!! Bread was too hard to eat. (Late Post — July 2015)

Oh my gosh. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Hubby and I spent 6 weeks in Europe and this was hands down our favorite meal. A reservation is highly recommended(and GPS to find it). We took our chances and were able to get a table without one. The service was excellent– they helped us translate and made suggestions. Everything on the menu sounded amazing so I don’t think you could go wrong. The pacing was perfect. The restaurant itself is small and intimate without feeling crowded. Every dish was full of interesting flavor combinations while still being very approachable. Each plate was my new favorite.

Service was a tad rushed but the good was fantastic. Reserve ahead. We got a shared table as a walk-in, and this was for lunch on a sleepy January weekday. We had the lasagna and the pasta with broccoli and pesto. Both were excellent. Cappuccino was good. Limoncello mousse was also good for me but my wife found it too strong in lemon. Recommended.

I ate my weight in pasta here(specifically the tagliatelle with pomodoro sauce and fresh ricotta). I also had their starter of marinated artichoke hearts and steamed broccoli gratin with almonds. Then I had the tiramisu. Basically, I couldn’t stop eating. I was fully committed to ceremoniously being wheeled out of La Zucca unable to walk due to my joy/excessive consumption of exemplary Italian food. The restaurant is quiet and cozy, and I am going to name my first born La Zucca, if that tells you anything.

Of all of the places I went on a 6 week trip in Europe, this was by far my favorite. Saw the need for a reservation(which is totally true) but was miraculously able to sneak into an open table outside after some other tourists finished their early dinner. The staff was excellent; best service we had in Europe. The couple next to us was surprised that the waiter spoke decent French as well. They took the time to translate the entire menu into English, but be forewarned, they wanted you to decide quickly afterwards. This proved to be difficult for my wife and I, as everything sounded amazing. We ended up ordering the pumpkin flan, buratta, mushrooms, and the lamb chops. The plates are smaller sizes meant for mixing and sharing. The pumpkin flan is as interesting as everyone says it is(I mean, this place is called«the pumpkin» for something right?). The house red wine was good as well. The total was 4 plates, desserts and drinks for around 70 euros, which we thought, for the experience, was an amazing value. Will remember(and dream) about this dinner for years to come and can’t wait to go back and experience it again(with a reservation this time).

GET A RESERVATION!!! Or you will not be able to enjoy this GOLDMINE. Just get the pumpkin flan. You know you want to. Everyone talks about it for good reason. Because it’s magical. I’ve never tried anything like it. And yes, it is savory. With cheese on top. Everything was delicious. And very veggie friendly! We sat outside and it’s right next to one of the canals(obviously) so it was a great view. I can’t remember everything else we got,(maybe a lasagna?) but you can’t go wrong there so it really doesn’t matter. GOGOGOGOGOGOGO

Definitely need reservations to eat here. We arrived for lunch and they didn’t allow us in without a reservation. Called and made reservations for next night. The venue is nice, right beside the water, you can get a table next to the window. The waiters are very nice and fluent as well. Definitely recommend to come here if you come to venice. The menu is in italian only, so check it out on Unilocal photos before you arrive. Appetizers Gorgonzola, pere e pistacchi — pasta with pistachios and pear(5⁄5) Flan di zucca con ricotta stagionata — pumpkin flan(5⁄5) Main Coscetta di tacchino con zucca, ricotta e guanciale — duck with pear(5⁄5) Ossobuco di vitello allo zafferano con riso — veal fillet(4⁄5) Dessert We ordered the mandarin one but it never arrived, otherwise I would have rated this restaurant 5⁄5. We paid $ 71 total.

This is the best meal I had in Venice. Everything was fantastic. The pumpkin flan was amazing. It really was one of the best things I’ve tasted. If you are in Venice, you need to try this place. I got a reservation by walking in and putting my name in for the next night. I think I just got really lucky, but if you’re an American and don’t really speak Italian, I think this is your best bet. It’s definitely worth it though.

I made reservations here based on all the positive reviews and the Michelin recognized sticker on the front door. After a 30 minute walk across Venice boy was I disappointed, the pumpkin flan wasn’t as amazing as the reviews make it out to be. They were sold out of 2 dishes I was looking forward to try which was lasagna and some pork dish. The waitress recommended a sausage and potato dish which was a disappointment. There are better choices in Venice, not really worth waiting in line for this one. Although prices are reasonable.

No reservations, but with a little perseverance, were able to snag an outside table when they had an early departure. Service was great and the food incredible. Standouts were the pumpkin flan and artichoke mousse. Also notable were the lamb chops with roasted fennel bulbs. Do your self a favor and eat here!

Pumpkin flan alone is worth 5 stars. I was hesitant because I couldn’t picture it as a savory dish but the flavor is delicious. The service here really is amazing and reminded me of fine dining in big cities without big city prices. I wish I could go back and try more dishes but everything we tried so far was great!

This cozy spot is definitely worth making a reservation! I called the morning we arrived, after seeing the reviews on Unilocal, and they were able to fit us in for lunch the next day. There are only a handful of tables, and we watched them turn a number of people away, being full. They showed each table personal attention and were really kind. Our waitress graciously helped translate the options for the meat course for us. We had the pumpkin flan(wow– so velvety and special!), pork medallions, and veal medallions, finished off with a panna cotta with a raisin sauce. It was all delicious, inventive, and homey at the same time. Definitely recommend!

Wow. My husband and I were able to snag a last minute reservation for lunch and were so glad we did. It’s right next to canal way and made for beautiful scenery. MAKE A RESERVATION. We saw at least three groups get turned down and they were all there waiting right when the place opened. My husband got the pumpkin lasagna and I got some sort of pesto dish. Their menu changes each day so ask the waitress what she recommends and you won’t be disappointed.

Very very good. My favorite meal while in Italy. Wonderful Osso buco, just wonderful. All the starters and firsts were delicious but the three sides we ordered were all a bit over salted for our tastes. Great atmosphere, kind and patient staff and lovely food. Cannot wait to go again. Must make a reservation.

A must for any visitor or resident. Different menu options and everything we tried was delicious. The lasagna was our favorite. For the ambience and quality of food, the prices are very reasonable so I’m not surprised a reservation days in advance is needed. We went for our one year anniversary dinner and were very pleased. Dessert was OK but that’s what Gelaterias are for!

We chose this restaurant for our 1st wedding anniversary here in Venice, and it did not fail to impress. This was by far the best vegetarian Italian restaurant that my husband(who is a non-vegetarian) & I have ever experienced. Our favorites included the lasagna with zucchini & pumpkin, the tortino di patate con azzuca e scamorza affumicata.

This was the best meal we had in Venice. If you’re a little tired of the usual pizza, spaghetti menu catered to tourists, this place fits the bill for an intimate, home-cooked meal. The menu is subject to change depending on what ingredients are available(that’s how you know it’s fresh!) with the exception of a couple of classic staples. On that note, let me start my ode to their pumpkin flan: YUMMMMM. Definitely something more to share than eat alone. very rich in flavor and the sweetness and spice of the pumpkin is well balanced with a white cheddar? and pumpkin seeds. Many guests at busy meal times so be sure to reserve in advance or play the early bird gets the worm wait game

Buon appetito!
