I liked this café the best of the many in this nice and relatively quiet section of Venice. Pretty interesting people watching spot, and the prices were reasonable, service was just fine. If you’re looking to escape the noise and crowds, head on over to Campo Santa Margherita and grab a chair at Margaret DuChamp for a bit. Relaxation awaits…

We stopped here while meandering around Dorsoduro during our 48 hour sprint through Venice. Friendly and attentive service, multilingual. Two espressos and a generous pour of prosecco(and free potato chips — bonus) for a mere 7 euro. Very reasonable by anyone’s standards. This appears to be mostly about the liquids(bar drinks and coffees) though I see yummy panini in the back. Free wifi — and none of us had the problems mentioned by the other reviewer about slow/spottiness. Ours was fast and reliable. Come hang out!

Cyndy’s Bottom Line: A great place to stop to get a glass of wine and people watch. We decided to stop here because we were in need of a drink and wi-fi. Ordered drinks which come with complimentary potato chips, yummy!

The square Campo Santa Margherita is a great place to go if you want to escape the touristy areas. The crowd is a lot of students and the bars are student-approved I guess because there were a lot of loud(but fun) guys on the terrace here getting drunk pretty early in the day. The Margaret Duchamp bar gets a lot of sun in the afternoon because of the position on the square. Even if most places in Venice are in the shadow you can enjoy the sun on the terrace here. Of course a good drink to start(or end) with is an Aperol Spritz, they also do Correttos, spiked espresso, usually with grappa and they serve wine in jugs if you want. The wifi was free but lousy. It is a very difficult and strange system with a difficult passcode and I could not get it working for more than a minute. So I enjoyed my drinks in the sun nicely offline ;-)

Hip to be square A must for a sundown spritz or a chilled glass of prosecco on a summer’s night. Pleasantly fashionable without being intimidating, although some staff could do with cheering up. You’ll pay more to sit outside, but it’s money well spent.
