We were looking for an inexpensive place to pop in, and we found this takeaway spot just steps away from the Rialto Bridge. If you are new to Venice, being close to a landmark spot is quite nice because it’s easy to get lost. We found the pasta to be nice but not remarkable. The pasta is cooked fresh on the spot, and then you pick which sauce you like. My husband chose pesto, and I got the bolognese. They also have tortellini, pizza, and(unexpected) cupcakes.

Q Food & More is a great place for college kids and other budget travelers. For $ 6, you get semi-restaurant quality pasta, all premised on the idea of having boxed pasta and ready-made pizza’s to go. The store has 4 – 6 types of pastas to choose from and another 3 – 5 types of sauce. You mix and match the pasta and the sauce, and everything is cooked immediately in front of you. Needless to say, this is not pasta from a fancy restaurant, so the pasta is not«hand-made» or fresh. However, to an amateur like myself whose goal is to fill up my stomach for a meal, the pasta tasted fine, and the sauce was actually pretty amazing. The meat sauce was terrific with a spoonful of hot sauce. The cuttlefish/squid ink sauce was marginally worse than the restaurant version I had the night before. I discovered this place after passing by a few times before finally deciding to try it out. After an unsuccessful attempt to try Dal Moro’s(another fresh pasta to go), I returned for more because this was actually THAT good.

We stumbled upon this place while walking around Venice and it was amazing! Their concept revolves around fresh pasta on-the-go for around 6 euros. You get to pick the type of pasta you want, with the type of sauce you want, and they cook it right there in front of you! We tried the squid ink pasta, which was really amazing. Be careful though it may stain your teeth! I loved the ragu bolognese sauce with spaghetti! The four cheese fettuccini was also really good!!! The best part is that everything is so cheap and the pasta comes out piping hot and fresh!

This place is awesome! It is near san marco square where everything is more expensive but somehow it was a great value & delicious! It is all take away or eat at the counter. For € 3.50 you get what they call a slice of pizza. It’s basically half a pizza. & it is super thick doughy pizza. They have bottled drinks, including beer & free fast wifi. We got dinner for 2 for € 12& were stuffed!
