This gem is a hike up into the village trails but it’s worth it. The views are amazing — one of those OMG moments you came to Cinque Terre for in the first place. Because it’s high up away from the main restaurants near the sea level, it’s not crowded. The food and the drinks are very good too for the location. We had the pasta with prawns, the stuffed mussels and the steak which were all very good. The lemon and orange juice are also fresh squeezed. Note: this place only takes cash(no credit cards) Must go at sunset — it’s amazing. We went around 6:30pm and left almost 9pm. The sun goes behind the hills around 8:30ish in June.

Bar La Torre is quite literally my wife’s and my favorite place in the world. Set high above Vernazza on the walk from Vernazza to Corniglia, it is a hidden gem. The drinks are delicious! Try the«margarita,» which is far less a margarita than a delicious hard lemonade made with their fresh lemons right from Cinque Terre. The staff brings you small plates free of charge to snack on with your drinks. Our first round of drinks came with a bowl of fresh olives, and our second with a delicious plate of rice cakes. We can’t wait to go back to Bar La Torre, and recommend it to every one of our friends visiting Italy.

My wife and I went out on a whim to eat here as it’s one of, if not the only Vernazza restaurant that’s not at street level. In fact, making the trek up to the restaurant may even get you to break a sweat depending on the season that you find yourself in the Cinque Terre. But it’s so worth it! We started with an order of the bruschetta with pesto and a nice bottle of local white wine. The bread was warm, the tomatoes ripe and the pesto fresh, as if it were handmade right before we ate it! We then shared the lasagna with pesto, the stuffed mussels and the penne with prawns. Yes, we rang up a bit of a bill but we are on our honeymoon and who doesn’t come to Italy to splurge a little?! Every plate was delectable, and enjoyed while watching the sun set. This restaurant is perched on the edge of a cliff, overlooking a few properties containing grapevines and lemon trees while even farther below waves crashed on the rocks. This is a hidden gem. I teeter back and forth on even sharing this review as I would like to eat here again without it being overrun with tourists! Oh well. Make the climb, you won’t be disappointed!

Great views with reasonable prices. Spaghetti con scoglio(mussels) was delicious. It’s out of the way and on the trail between Vernazza and Corniglia(closer to Vernazza), so you have your pick of tables.
