It’s a tiny shrine and famous for the spot where Sakamoto Ryoma and his wife visited. Sakamoto Ryoma is well-known as one of pretty famous and popular person living during the Bakumastu period in Japan. Some are a big fan of him. He was born in Kochi in 1835, contributed to Japan’s accelerated modernization which made the end of feudal government that was continued for 700 years. The modernized nation he shaped had laws, a strategic office, and a parliamentary system. I have been in here several times as a school activity. At the time I was so afraid of the statue of fox in front of Torii(a traditional Japanese gate usually found at the entrance of a shrine) The face scared me a lot. Even I grow up, at night I was so scared it and I usually avoid to walk though there.
