The lunch I had at Itosho was certainly one of the most memorable experiences I had in Tokyo. The owner and chef Hiroharu Ito prepares delicious shojin ryori food(i.e. «temple» food) that is elegant, flavorful and seasonal. The multi-course meal is served in beautifully decorated private rooms that will enhance the experience of tasting 10 – 12 outstanding courses. This is for sure one of the best vegan meals I have ever had in my life. Chef Ito, who is in his mid 90s, is very friendly and joyful. He was the single person running the show(receiving people, serving food and cooking) when I visited. Since Itosho has a well deserved Michelin star and a good reputation, reservations are a must and you need to pay with cash.
