Located right off the south exit(look right, down the stairs) of JR Mitaka station on the Chuo line, the outward appearance of this Tully’s is quite unassuming. The first floor seating is sparse and a bit cramped, but go up to the second floor and you’ll find ample space for yourself and maybe one other person. There are no four person tables so be warned. The long line of seats along the south windows are for singles, and enough power outlets are provided for road warriors, nomads and students. The coffee and food menu are pretty similar to other Tully’s locations, so I won’t elaborate on those here. However, I did notice on my receipt that Tully’s is also offering the«one more» cup campaign made famous by the other big coffee chain whose name begins with«S.» Tully’s offer is ¥150 — higher but the first cup is cheaper, so it probably balances out to be about the same. There’s also a glass sealed smoking room in the back of the second floor. Coffee chain S absolutely forbids smoking except for outside, so here you can enjoy your java and smokes in the comfort of a weather protected, air conditioned space. There are other chain coffee shops in the area on both sides of the station, but this one offers a comfortable environment to chill and one that’s quiet, comfortable and different from the others.
