Wandered here after a long walk around Tokyo. Monday evening, cold and snowing, no reservation was needed. They kindly took our jackets and gave my wife a soft cover in case she felt cold. The menu was in English and we picked multiple yakitori, meat, fish, pork, vegetable and the special of the house. Just amazing! We definitely recommend this place! Also on the way out, they gave each of us a little box with onogiri as a present for the walk back to hotel! Loved this!

When you arrive in Tokyo from the West Coast of the US, dinner is hard. Your body feels like it’s the middle of the night so you’re fighting to stay awake and it’s not easy to focus on food. Luckily, my friend knows Jinya well so she ordered everything for us in this tiny robata shop in Ebisu. From the bacon wrapped cherry tomatoes to the tender grilled beef, I enjoyed everything that arrived in front of of us. And watching the chef grill fish over a giant flame was exciting enough to keep me alert! As we left we were given a parting treat: onigiri. This came in handy when I woke up hungry in the middle of the night. If you’re looking for yakitori(a catch all term for skewer grilled food in Japan) near the Ebisu station, this is certainly a spot worth trying.
