I was born and raised in Hawaii and have to admit the L&L in Japan is better. They serve pretty much the same things as they do in Hawaii, but the meat quality is so much better in Japan, and it shows in the final product. The restaurant seats about 20 people with indoor and outdoor seating. If you can’t decide what to get, the mixed plate is always a good choice. It’s quite a bit of food, but you can doggy bag the other half or share with a friend.

Im from Hawaii and am very familiar with L&L restaurants and food. Let me just say that if you are looking for authentic Hawaiian BBQ you’ve found the right place. So far out of all the Hawaiian fair foods in Japan that I have tried this is the closest it gets to Hawaii. That being said let me break your heart and say NOLAULAU. Loco moco might taste mote like Japans locomoco and prices can get a little expensive, a complete bbq special cost of about 1600¥ which would probably cost closer yo 10.00 $ in Hawaii. A good difference about this place is that its a café. They serve alcohol, coffee and some pancakes because thats what Japan associates Hawaii with. Its a tiny little joint and theres even a dj booth. It must be popular with the younger crowd and music lovers. It taste like Hawaii!

My husband loves L&L in California, but it’s never really appealed to me. When we stumbled upon it while looking for a place to eat lunch in Shibuya, I had to pretend that it sounded good, and I’m so glad I did. It was delicious! I got the garlic shrimp which came with white rice and a salad. First of all the salad had little micro greens, cucumbers and the freshest, tastiest tomatoes. The garlic shrimp came with the skin on(I think maybe you’re supposed to eat it but I’m not that hardcore). But, there was so much crispy fried garlic, and whatever else it was mixed with it, that there was plenty to eat with my shrimp once I peeled it. My husband had Moco Loco with the egg perfectly cooked(not a bit runny but still perfectly creamy yolk) and Musubi– which he loved. We will come here again and again.

If you’re from California– you know L&L to be a place you go for a take out meal. Here it’s more of a sit down restaurant with cute Hawaiian themed decorations. The food is great– I always get the bbq chicken or beef. The macaroni salad is absolutely delicious! **cash only restaurant**

Great selection of food and the beer was amazing. The restaurant has a cozy Hawaiian atmosphere. They also have a great dessert menu!
