Charcoal Green Bashamichi is a great spot for dinner and drinks. There are several Green restaurants in Yokohama, but we prefer this one because the grill doesn’t overpower the temperature of the establishment like it does in Ishikawacho. This one is much more airy. There is even outdoor seating available. Wide windows add to the atmosphere and they can be opened in the summer months. The food here is amazing. There are staple items like wagyu beef or grilled chicken and fish, or sides such as smoky macaroni and cheese(my favorite). They also have nightly specials. I ordered the swordfish last night and it was so moist and flavorful! Quite a treat! There is plenty to choose from — all foods are made fresh. Staff is great and it’s very English friendly. I would suggest taking your phone with you when you venture to the bathroom just in case you get turned around on the stairs and hallway. It’s a bit tricky. Overall great spot for a date night or gathering with friends. There are plenty of bars in the area for post-wandering and the station is quite close.

This was my second trip to Charcoal Grill Green. The food has been excellent. I had the strip steak and smoked macaroni and cheese. If you love a charcoal grill flavor, different meat options(I haven’t tried them all, yet!), you will enjoy the cozy environment mixed with backyard grilling feel(from a Mississippi boy) I haven’t been disappointed.

Came for the lunch specials(some great cooked chicken, hamburger, etc.) that included a salad-dessert-coffee/tea. They have a real charcoal grill for their meats. Good atmosphere w/English menu & English speaking staff. A choice selection of Japanese craft beers. Adorable spigots. Credit cards accepted.

3.49 stars. Not a bad place to go for a bite to eat and some beer or wine if you’re in the neighborhood. They have about six rotating taps, which are generally solid(aside from the mass-produced Heartland) and the main menu as well as daily specials – western-style bistro/pub food – should offer something for nearly everyone. While the atmosphere is cozy, the grill makes the whole restaurant a bit smokey, which somehow isn’t a problem at their Ishikawa-cho location, even though it’s about the same size. The restaurant seems to be non-smoking, tho’ I didn’t see any signs to that effect(or ashtrays!), so that’s a big positive!
