Former Yokohama Settlement No. 48 Building

This is the preserved remains of a building from the former Yokohama foreign settlement dating to the 1880s. They did a good job preserving it and with the signage (including in English) to give a tiny taste of life back in the settlement era.
It was discovered by chance when they were cleaning the lot (of Helm House, a wonderful five-​story modern apartment building from 1938 in the «International Style» designed by Czech architect Jan Svagr) to make room for the monstrous theater that occupies most of the space.
It’s out in the open so always open but the lighting isn’t that great at night.
