This is the only restaurant I have gone to every time I have visited Tokyo. Supposedly this is one of Quentin Tarantino’s favorite restaurants and he asked if they could film a scene from Kill Bill in it(a fight scene with a bunch of ninjas), but the owner said no, so he had a fake replica built of this restaurant on a Hollywood studio lot for the scene. The food here is the real draw though. At lunch it is really a steal, like 6 courses for 3,000 yen, and every course is beautiful and cooked and seasoned perfectly. Their miso glaze saba is unlike any other. The shredded chicken sticks are also amazing, as is the steak dish and their housemade soba. Phenomenal.
