We had become accustomed to donairs/​kebabs in London and Vancouver. The one we had tried in Yokohama earlier didn’t cut it. Now, we’ve found this one, with real kebab flavor!
They only have chicken for the meat, but the flavor is deep, as expected. The vegetables are only shredded cabbage and tomatoes, though. I miss the refreshing lettuce and lightly pickled vegetables I have experienced before. But the meat ratio is high, so I could take it home and add my own lettuce, if I wanted to.
The guy carved the meat after we ordered, and it took a bit of time for him to make it. He said he’s from Persia. He spoke Japanese but not English.
The three sauces you can pick are Hot, Mix, and Mild. I went for the Mild, as usual. It has a tiny hint of sweet among the spices. My friend tried the other two and preferred Mix. It had more flavor. The hot was just hot.
The three can be distinguished by the tape on them (tape samples are on the sauce menu). Mild is ladybugs.
They had a table with several chairs.
I was told by my friends that they have seen the truck there on weekends, usually not on weekdays. We found him there one Sunday afternoon, but not the next (when it was a bit drizzly). I haven’t figured out the pattern yet, and I couldn’t find a website.
