It’s a Hit! Batting Cages

This is a stress release activity that guarantee can lift up your moods instantly. I went here couple times after work and I will feel energised after even though the game itself requires a lot of energy.
One thing is, if you are not located near 1utama, it might be a bit hard to get into unless you are driving. It’s a bit tricky to find this place as well because 1utama is pretty big. Anyway it opens up till late, I think around 10.30PM, and you can just pay per tokes. So 1 token will give you 15 balls to hit and it will cost you about RM5, bear in mind that the it’s quite fast paced so you might want to consider take 3 – 5 tokens and it will probably last about 20 – 30 minutes. You can also play per time. It’ll cost you RM50 for 30 minute but you can share it with other people.
If you really like playing this game, you should consider joining as a member, and you can get cheaper price for buying tokens or play according to time.

All that pent up aggression, stress and tension was gone by the first swing. Hitting the batting cages to release stress is such a clique in movies and TV shows but it does do the trick, if even your hand-​eye coordination is not on point. So I tried my hand at the batting cages and although I managed to hit one ball out of ermm … 30 balls, it was really relaxing even though I was hitting the air for most of the time. It was kind of scary the way the balls come at you especially at that speed, so you got to be careful and position yourself in a non-​compromising way, you don’t want to knock out by a speeding ball.
You have to buy tokens here, 1 token gets you 15 balls and it only costs RM5 (if you’re not a member, RM 4 if you are), so it doesn’t really burn a whole in your wallet. You can bring your own bat or you can use the bats provided. They’ll also provide you with a helmet, always remember to keep your helmet on at all times trust me it may not look fashionable but it’ll protect your head from any stray balls flying around.
I had loads of fun here and will definitely go back again, I need to redeem myself and work on my swing!

Its A Hitting Batting Cage is a place i usually go to when I am in 1 Utama and I don’t have much to do. Its located on the Upper Roof Level of the shopping mall. Because its on the upper roof/​open air (although covered), its pretty windy and not as hot as i thought it would be .It’s a pretty big space and the price is reasonable. RM 5 for 15 balls/​strikes and RM3 for 15 balls/​strikes on wednesdays. Once you make the payment, you’ll be given a helmet and you will be asked to proceed to the batting cage (watch out for the really steep staircase).
Each batting cage is fairly big. When you put in the token into the machine, you can configure your settings. You could choose the speed and the height that the ball will be thrown at you via the machine. Once you’re set, you just have to stand in the box and wait for the red light (which means that the balls are going to start flying at you. Yikes: O) In my opinion, it is a really fun sport but it is not as easy as it looks. Even with the lowest speed, my arms hurt from swinging the bat to hit the ball. 15 strikes finish within a few minutes so i usually go for 2 – 3 rounds.
A really fun activity that you should try when you’re at 1 Utama. A healthy way to blow off some steam or even to just have fun with friends and family :)

When it first opened it doors a few years back, the batting cages were a «hit» (pun intended).
Over the past few months I’ve paid them a visit and I must say that I am really disappointed.
The management has failed to properly up-​keep the outlet. The helmets & and bats provided are really old and should really be replaced. The cages are getting rusty and the inflatable bar where the cashier is located has a weird smell coming from it.
The service here is just plain bad. The indian cashier was really rude and has a bad attitude.
Safe to say I will not be back after that horrid experience.

The only batting cage that I know of so far which is this one located in One Utama. It used to be really popular back during the days when I was still in high school but now it no longer is.
Was here a week ago and it is looks as if it has not been maintained at all. The condition of the batting cages are really bad, rusty everywhere and it can be dangerous if there were sharp rusty metals sticking out. The place looks like a total mess and apart from that they don’t even have customer service, leaving only 1 staff to handle the place.
Not such a good place to go to anymore I must say, or don’t even bother going.

I was a cricket player and as far I know, it is a boring and annoying kind of game. Unfortunately, we don’t have baseball here in Malaysia. Baseball is more exciting because they way their hit the balls with their bats. Love seeing them on the MLB on sports channels. I thought nobody cares about baseball as much as I do but I guess I was wrong. My friend told me that there’s a batting cage that located on the top floor of One Utama.
It’s kinda hard to get to the top since there’s only one elevator that could bring you to the uppest floor and it’s located nearby the Parkson. It’s not just the batting cage up there but also a FIFA-​sized of futsal courts. The turf was great and nice but so big. I wonder I could play futsal on the turf for more than 10 minutes.
Yep, the batting cage is next to the turf. You need to get the tokens first before you could hit the balls. There’re various types of packages for each member, student or public but I heard there’s a Promotion Day for every Wednesday. I felt nervous at the moment because I was afraid that the ball gonna hit me somewhere important.
I was enjoying the nights even I realized that I don’t have any talents to be a baseball player. For those who wants to release their anger by hitting something fast, this place is highly recommended.
