The banana leaf is found upstairs. You must come and try the crab curry. Also the staff are nice and it has a warm welcoming atmosphere. The fried spiced chicken is also very good. A must come for banana leaf enthusiasts

What cheers me up more than a decently flipped roti canai in the morning? — Perfectly done half boiled eggs! I hope that there’s consistency in their half boiled eggs here in Devi’s, as this that I have gotten today was really good! What’s more is, to be honest there are not much places in KL right now that you can still get breakfast for under RM10, and feel really full at the same time. Need more reason to love mamak stalls? Didn’t think so! Of course, for those who are familiar with Devi’s, you would know that they have their kick-ass banana leaf served on the first floor as well. So, if you are craving for more than just rotis and tandooris, head upstairs and get feasting! Another small detail that I like about Devi’s would be their teh tarik, which is foamy good and not too sweet. I don’t like to order my teh tarik less sweet, as usually it would end up with no condensed milk in it at all. So, I must say that Devi’s has got its sweetness very well balanced. Will always be one of my favourite hang out spots!

Got food poisoning here. In fact a few weeks later, my friends got poisoned as well. Not hygienic by any standards. You’ve been warned! The banana leaf wasn’t that good. Head over to nirvana. The high turnover lessen the chance of you getting sick. Trust me, it’s not bloody fun.

This is my favorite place to go to in Bangsar and I often make the trek to Bangsar specifically to eat here. It’s got a great assortment of food– a bit like a food court within the one restaurant. It’s always busy and no one is too good for this place. It’s the place I take out-of-towners to eat when I want to «show off» KL. So far, Devi’s Corner chicken curry is the best I’ve found amongst the many mamak style restaurants. This means I’m a big orderer of the banana leafs and roti canai here. The other big seller for me is their tandoori chicken(served after 6PM). Also later in the day, the satay guy grills his chicken satay for diners to order set up next to the tandoori station. I wish I could say more about their other foods, but I have mostly stuck to the foods I know because they are so, so good. One day, I’ll venture off my usual order. But until then, I’ll keep coming to Devi’s and always order seconds(and sometimes thirds) of the good stuff.

Devi’s was one of the first ones in the area. Since it moved to its current locations it’s become ok at best. Service on the ground floor restaurant is spotty although the food is still alright. Prices are decent. The banana leaf meals on the first floor remain good however and recommended.

Their Banana Leaf Rice is certainly a must-try! The vegetables are flavourful and they have different kinds of curry, including crab curry whereby most restaurants only serve chicken and fish.

The food here is amazing, i love the fact they serve 5 veggies instead of the usual 3. They also serve Sri Nirwana’s signature fried bitter gourd except it taste much better than Nirwana’s. Besides that they offer free refills of everything except for meat. They have a unique choice of curries including crab which is a must try! RM7 per banana leaf, TOTALLY worth it!

Devi’s Corner in Bangsar is an excellent place to discover the uniquely delicious hawker-style food served at a Malaysian mamak stall. A mamak stall is often open air(yes, you will sweat) and sort of like a food court. There’s something for everyone: various types of roti, noodle dishes such as maggi goreng and mie goreng, fried chicken and banana leaf rice. Some of my favorite meals in Malaysia have been at mamaks. On my visit to Devi’s we shared tandoori chicken, garlic butter naan and crab curry. And then washed it all down with very sweet teh tarik(hot milk tea). I didn’t have my usual must-order, roti canai, at Devi’s but I imagine its good here judging from the quality of all the dishes we tried. NOTES — Devi’s Corner accepts cash only(like most every mamak) — Your fingers will be greasy, look around for the sink to wash your hands it’s a bit tucked away) after your meal — You can order as you go, just flag down a server when you spy a dish you want to try(do get curious about what other people have on their tables)

Not a fan. The sad thing about Devi’s Corner is that there are places just a short walk away that do everything Devi’s does, but better and cheaper. Craving banana leaf rice? Sri Nirvana Maju is literally a street away. Some might say Devi’s is a different kettle of BLR, because it’s upstairs and air-conditioned and semi-fancy, but the reality is the food just isn’t up to par. The least enjoyable banana leaf rice I’ve ever had was here, soggy and bland(with dhal that barely registered any taste in my mouth.) The more general mamak options downstairs are just as disappointing. Only go here if you’re up at 3am, having clubbed the night away, and you want a maggi goreng fix satisfied right then. It’s the only time Devi’s will do you good.

Devi’s Corner is my favorite place to have banana leaf. What i like the most is the dining area upstairs where they serve the banana leaf. Its air conditioned and the chairs are very comfortable, the tables look and feel expensive and it doesn’t at all feel like a banana leaf restaurant like Nirvana’s for example. Devis’s standard banana leaf’s are priced at RM7, everything else you order like chicken etc will be charged separately. Service here is fast if they are not so busy, on busy days its really hard to get any service at all. You have to wait a long while for your food to be served and if you need anything more you may have a hard time flagging down the staff.

Devi’s Corner has long been a favourite of mine for banana leaf rice(RM7), but lately this place just seems to be going from bad to worse. The servers here used to be friendly, however in the recent two or three years they’ve become slow and inattentive. It took more than 10 minutes after sitting down to be attended to and have the banana leaf laid on the table. Aside from that, the food here is fairly decent. Heaps of steaming white rice are served on an actual banana leaf with three different types of vegetable dishes. There are about eight different types of vegetables in rotation, usually suspects include spinach, potato and mango chutney. Fried bitter gourd and papadam are served separately in a basket to share, and are usually way too little for the entire table. Luckily, refills of vegetables and rice are unlimited. Four different types of curry are available to drown your rice in(chicken, fish, crab and mutton). I love the crab curry here– delicious and tantalizing. I ordered the fried chicken(RM5) too, which took a longer than expected to arrive but was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Perfect! The restaurant is usually filled with people on weekends though, so come early to avoid long lines. But Devi’s is still one of the best places in Bangsar to get a relatively cheap meal that fills you up completely.

I’ve never thought that Devi’s corner’s food could be delicious until my friend suggested to eat there and she was soo right! If you go upstairs they serve banana leaf style and is quite popular. The best time to go would be lunch time but I suggest to go early as spaces are limited. They have this crab curry which is soo delicious which is mildly spicy. The chicken 65 which is fried boneless chicken chopped up is good. Almost everything is good if you are familiar with what to order then just order it! Only down side is service! As you may know the serves don’t always write down your order and they forget to bring your order of something. They need to fix that pronto

Devi’s corner is one of the place that you barely see empty every time you passed it by. Probably because it is 24 hours as well, and it is pretty affordable. I personally like their place because it is quite accessible, and they have really nice teh tarik here. You would see people occupying this place more and more especially towards the night, so if you don’t want it to get to crowded, try come as early as you can. I am not really blown away with their food. I mean, I like their tandoori, banana leaf and roti canai, but I felt like I tried better elsewhere. Although, do try out their cheese nan, it is pretty good. Price wise, it is pretty similar to any other mamak. Their banana leaf is located on the second floor, and it is a complete opposite ambience of devi’s corner downstairs. The banana leaf place upstairs is pretty quiet and don’t think a lot of people actually know about this. I would definitely come here especially for some late night food but probably not going to come here that often.

Bangsar is pretty well known for their many Banana Leaf Rice restaurants and this restaurant is one of the popular ones in this area. If you’re around the area, be sure to try their banana leaf here! The spices in their curry sauces create a flavorful aroma. Oh and do take note that Banana Leaf Rice are served upstairs of the restaurant whereas the regular mamak goes on downstairs. Service here can be quite slow due to the fact that they have two-stories and it’s hard to manage all orders. The thing that I liked most here are their sauces and other side dishes in their banana leaf. The one that I really enjoyed was their mango chutney! It tasted sweet but it went so well with the whole dish. At first I was hesitant to try it but I was so glad I did. It was a new experience for me and me and my friends really enjoyed it. The curry sauces here are also very nice and spicy, if you really want your banana leaf rice to shine, you should ask to add all the curries onto your rice! You’d definitely want to come back after trying it!

Right across the street from the known Nirwana Banana Leaf, here is another place that proves to be another good place for banana leaf. They have really good curry which I think is the most important part of the dish. The side dishes like the Soy Sauce Chicken and of course the Fried Chicken are really good too. Who can push away a good fried chicken? The ambience here is pretty okay as well, with air conditioning during the hot afternoon weather(upstairs). The service here is efficient and fast most of the time, except lunch hour where it gets really packed. I once had to wait for a good 20 minutes for rice to be served in front of me. The price here is cheaper than commercial places, which I think is an advantage to eat here, especially in a place like Bangsar, where prices can be higher than usual.

Devi’s Corner is my go to place for mouth-watering banana leaf food. Firstly, I love their dining space as it is fully air conditioned(upstairs) and it makes me feel comfortable. Its fairly quiet, quite dim lighting(which I like) and also very clean. You cant really find all this in most banana leaf restaurants apart from the high end ones. Moving on to food(yay!), the basic banana leaf rice set comes with : 1. Rice(they usually serve regular white rice but you can opt for parboil rice) ‚ 2. A choice of 4 non-vegetarian curries(mutton, crab, chicken and fish) and/or 2 – 4 vegetarian curries 3. 3 vegetables(varies from day to day), 4. 3 condiments(raita, chutney and achar) 5. Papadam and deep fried snake gourd. * You could also order add-ons such as fried squid/prawn/chicken/fish, egg/tofu sambal, mutton/chicken varuval/peratal and many other varieties. Sounds like a lot of food ! :D By the time you’re done with your food, you can barely move(that’s a good thing btw: P) In my opinion, Devi’s Corner serves the best banana leaf food in town. If you have not tried it, what are you waiting for: O P.S: Apart from banana leaf food(which is what they’re known for), they also serve other dishes like any other mamak. Give it a try !

This is the best place to go after a night out in Bangsar! Devi’s corner is our best tradition after partying in The Social or La Bodega, because it is open 24hrs. The cheese naan is amazing and the Tandoori chicken is my favorite, and the price is really good. Such good value earned them with the Best Cheap Eats of KL Award. It is always full, especially during lunch hour. But there is usually not a lot of waiting for a table during the rest of the day. Downstairs, in the ‘mamak’ area you can get cheese naan, Milo naan(which is delicious, served with condensed milk) and other options. Upstairs you can enjoy the banana leaf, which is great and really cheap. Waiters are mostly nice, but it can take a while to get service during busy hours considering the size of the restaurant. I will certainly come back many times!

Devi’s during the day is comprised of good food, fast service and bright-eyed patrons who are there for a hearty Nasi Campur during lunchtime or to grab a quick Naan to eat in between shopping sprees. But come nighttime, the occupants are a total 180. This place was THE place to be after you get home from a night of hard clubbing with your mates and you just need a place to sit and enjoy some delicious meals while regretting earlier beverage choices. The place was always crowded at this time. Eyes, which were ever so slightly opened, some proceeded to sleep on the tables while others swayed themselves or with a friend to the bathroom for a good… erm, discharge at the back alley. Thank god my friends and I have stomachs made of steel(or so we’d like to think!) we would just sit, continue chatting(rather loudly because our ears were still ringing from the bass) and enjoy our food. Our favorite drunk-snacks? Garlic-Butter-Cheese-Naan, Chicken Tandoori, Maggi Goreng, Limau Ice or the Teh O’ Ice and sometimes some good ol’ Roti Canai banjir really hits the spot. Aaaah the good ol’ days…

The most comfortable place to have banana leaf rice in Bangsar! Their first floor is fully air-conditioned. Food of choice: Banana leaf rice(duh), Crab curry(must), Chicken 65, Fried Squid Tends to get very busy during lunch hours, so go early to avoid queueing up. Great location, easy to spot. However, parking may be an issue. Best place to park would be in Bangsar Village or the public carpark opposite BV.

One place that is always crowded and buzzing. It doesnt matter if it’s the weekend or a week day most of the time you have to hunt for a free space. Even when it’s 3am on a Friday night, you will never be alone there. People say that they serve the best Indian food in town. They put cinnamon in their Dosa and it’s a must try! Another speciality of the restaurant is Chicken Tandoori. The main area of seating is outside, but there are also some spaces on the second floor. The place is not good for a date, as it does not seem very clean from the first sight. However, it’s a place you go after a long night out. The pricing is fair and you can get really high quality food.
