I already noticed this place for quite some time already but still never had a chance to try out the rink. Why? Because I’m not live here at Putrajaya and secondly, I’m not have talent when it come to this kind of stuff. Plus, I’m staying at Shah Alam and the closest one would be the Sunway Pyramid Skating rink but it way to crowded. The Icescape Skating Rink that located just inside the IOI City Mall is probably the biggest skating rink that we ever got here in Malaysia. Well, for now I only know that there’s only 2 skating rink in the nation so it’s not kinda hard to observe and making inference. Although it’s quite larger than the Sunway’s but that doesn’t mean it’s much crowded. No, in here you can skate peacefully without even thinking about hitting someone else. Unless if you are terrible skater just like me so I would assume that you gonna hit someone or something anyway. The entrance fee is just RM23 for the weekdays and RM28 during the weekends which it seems it’s not such a bad rate for a huge and less-crowded skating rink like this.

I really love ice skating and I can’t wait to go when my friend told me there opens up an Olympic sized ice skating rink in Malaysia(which is the largest I suppose)! I am not good in ice skating but I enjoy the moment you keep swiping here and there, like wind~ Plus IOI City Mall Putrajaya has lesser crowd compared to Sunway, which mean bigger space for ice skating! Well the admission fees did shocked me for a while, with RM30 something per person means I definitely can’t come regularly… It costs RM23(weekday) or RM28(weekend) for one entry ticket and one pair of ice-skate shoes per person, while gloves and socks require additional costs for RM9 and RM6. So it is better to bring your own gloves and shoes to avoid extra payment. Besides it offers locker for people to put their belongings which costs RM2 per locker which can only unlock once. Take note that the entry ticket can only enter once, once you leave the entrance you will have to buy a new ticket to go in again. But do not worry as it has toilet, vending machines and chairs inside if you need some refreshment or take some rest. Packages for groups and events are also available in different charges, as well as courses in ice skating. You can check out its facebook page for more updates!
