What was once a printing factory located nearby other publishing houses such as News Straits Times has been turned into an event space to keep the place alive. Sharing the same grounds as Pulp Café, APW is a hidden gem that bridges the gap between modernity and heritage as the owner refused to sell off the place and decided to turn it into an event space instead.
There’s been numerous events held here including a pop up bar 44 and the Pestle and Mortar party. I like how the location is still accessible to the public as its in the bangsar vicinity but parking is not easy as you’ll have to park quite a distance and walk over. The venue can also be a little hot and stuffy if there’s too many people inside all at once.

Every now and then when a space like this popped up, the entire KL’s event landscape was changed — for the better. APW started (and still is) a commercial printing factory with a history of more than 60-​years old.
Today, the repurposed factory is a modern collective for arts and culture. Apart from the permanat fixture Pulp Café, there has been pop-​up efforts like 44 bars and art exhibitions. Since then, APW has successfully transformed a jaded factory into a trendy, ultra cool space, at the same time, keeping the heritage alive — thus redefining event space in KL.
The interesting concept and its story were even picked up by Monocle magazine. Suffice to say, we need more places like this in the city where heritage and modernity can indeed collide and go hand in hand.

If you are looking for a hipster feel event space, this space is to die for! With it’s rusted doors and in a container like space, this place got it’s raw materials you are looking for. If you know Pulp coffee place then you are in an event space. Not many people know that until the event company i was working with found this place as a event space rental and so we because the first event ever to happen here!
Hotlink Live Life Loud media launched was happening here under the pouring rain, there is space for car to come in, drop off and go off. In this event company there is no such of empty holes or spaces, we used up all of the space for registration, live feed system and a mini concert. Inside, there are raw materials painted in red as your tables and chairs of the night and not to mention, finger food from the awesome PICNIK catering owned by a famous chef Nik Michael. I used the security guard house as merchandises shop.
However, there are con’s in using the venue.
1) Ventilation, due to an open area, there are times are there is too many people, it gets stuffy, so do make sure to put more on portable air cond.
2) Toilet may be very dirty behind so get a Toi Toi
