Plan B is a sister company of Ben’s and is also owned by The Big Group. Plan B serves sorta the similar menu as Ben’s but with ots own twist to the items. I usually order the beef burger or the soft shell crab pasta as i feel these are two of the best items on the menu. The cakes here are pretty good too, there are quite a few choices to choose from. During peak hours this outlet is packed as with all the restaurants at Mid Valley. However service usually remains prompt and food comes pretty quick too. However i think given the choice between plan b and ben’s, i would choose ben’s in a heartbeat. Maybe I’m just more used to the food and environment there.

This is a place that I have gotten disappointed for a few times, and ended up finding out that I was disappointed while being served by a same waiter for the different visits, isn’t that a bit incredible? — I have a habit of jotting down names of waiters that I had unpleasant encounters with, oops. There was one time where I got served my wine in a glass with crooked glass stem. Out of curiosity, I asked this waiter why is my glass like that, understanding that Plan B will not use a glass that’s crooked(which I later reconfirm with Plan B that they have never used such ‘specially designed’ glass) but the waiter told me that that’s the design of the glass. I repeated my question and he answered me the same without even blinking his eyes! The second time was recently when I was visiting the restaurant at 10:12 which I was told that the restaurant has already past their last kitchen call — which differs if you check it online. Thing is, it was the same waiter who told me that! I reconfirmed with him and again without blinking his eyes while telling me that the kitchen is closed. Being disappointed I enquired from Plan B and they told me that it’s their waiter in the branch’s mistake. The food here is actually okay and the place is quite comfortable too, but if you have a group of front-line employees who do not serve well, I think the restaurant has gotten to do something, aye?

I came here to do some writing and picked a spot at the back where there is a plug point for my laptop. Like most Plan Bs, the interior and design of the place is characteristic. I didn’t order the food but instead tried their Scones that is served with cream & jam, and a hot Honey Lemon drink. The scones wasn’t too bad, I didn’t love it but my boyfriend did. They are tiny so it makes for an easy snack. My honey lemon though, was served quite interestingly! I was given a cup with sliced lemon in it, a separate good serving of honey, and a little pot of hot water. Besides looking lovely in terms of presentation, I like the fact that I didn’t need to constantly call on the waiter for my refill of hot water. And with the quantity of honey given, I easily made myself 3 cups! In terms of comfort, where I sat did get a little warm after a while, due to the lighting. But it was a good spot as I people watched and did my work for more than 2 hours.

MidValley is the second outlet I have been dining at Plan B. Compared to the service at Bangsar Village, I would say Bangsar Village has a better service. In general, Plan B serves western cuisine. Well, it doesn’t have my all-time-favorite pasta but I manage to try out something new. And hence, I went Plan B for my dinner with Danny since he wanted to try it too. I told myself it was dinner time, so it was crowd and the staffs were busy. But seriously? It took me 15 minutes to get the attention from the crew. Hmmm… They were really not attentive enough. We ordered our food and luckily it didn’t take too long for the food to be served. Nonetheless, the food was not appetizing. I ordered the same dish like I did in Bangsar Village branch, but here was just not flavorful. I hope this wasn’t the standard? Else, it is really disappointing. Overall, we don’t really enjoy our dinner that night. I hope that my next dining could be better.

This plan B has just opened last year and you could almost hear the workers in surrounding offices breathe a sigh of relief. There are plenty of food options in Mid Valley, and I do mean PLENTY, but it’s always good to have MORE! Aside from offering delicious food, this outlet also lends a cool environment to hang out and stretch ones legs during lunch hour. This outlet is bigger as compared to the one in Bangsar Village and it boasts an industrial feel to it with exposed brick walls, raw wooden paneling, and stacked up crates creating an art piece. It really is a creative space in which one can most definitely get inspired by. Located on the Ground floor near Topshop and Esprit, this outlet is hard to miss. Its blaring lighting and hard exteriors will definitely demand your attention. And like a moth to a flame, you will be intrigued. Well at least I was. I’ve only ever been here once with a friend of mine grabbing a quick cuppa during her lunchtime break and I was immediately blown away by its interior set up. I wasn’t even concentrating on my tea all that much, but I’m guessing it was just as good. One minor setback though if you’re a smoker, there is not smoking section here so you simply have to step out for a butt(hahah I said butt!)

I came here for a birthday once way back when I was still an omnivore. It was a nice experience, I remembered having their breakfast set that comes with either coffee or tea. I ordered their salmon on toasts with poached eggs on top. I’d give their food here an 8 out of 10. Their service here was kinda nice as I was warmly welcomed by nice waiters who patiently took our orders, as we were so indecisive over what we wanted. I also fancied the ambience, as there was a vintage-vibe going on. Very cosy feeling. Prices here are definitely more up-scale than most cafes. A meal here would cost you somewhere between RM20 to RM40, depending on what you order. Still, it’s awesome. They sell really good salads here too. I’d definitely come here again.
