Espression8 Cafe

I’ve been to Espression8 café only once, and I’m not planning to come back anytime soon…
It was after 9pm and I was hungry as I haven’t had dinner. We decided to try out the new café in the block, Espression8. It’s situated opposite Rock Café, behind MBL HQ. I like the simple and comfortable ambiance here, and the cute and quirky decorations. There weren’t any other customers here during that time of that night. But, it didn’t feel awkward or too silent. The waiters left us alone and occasionally asked if we needed any assistance. So, I must say thumbs up to the service.
I had a grilled chicken wrapped in tortilla with a poached egg and side salad. The portion was small and my meal was pretty disappointing. The grilled chicken bits were dry and tasteless, and the salad dressing too sour and unappetizing. The same sauce dressed the vegetables in the tortilla too. So I didn’t enjoy my tortilla and salad at all. Plus, the poached egg was a little too vinegar-​y and I didn’t like the sweet sauce brushed onto the plate beneath the poached egg. It was a bad combination…
Maybe the tortilla isn’t their specialty as I’ve heard of their pastas and their signature drink, the S’Mocha with Marshmallow. Price wise, Espression8 is like other cafes in the area. An average of RM25 — RM30 for a meal. Parking in this area may be troublesome too.
