Nyonya Colors

Nyonya colours is a great place to go to for a simple meal. Its located In 1Utama (you will see it as you take the escalator up). It has a few tables by the side of the shop for customers to have their meal there. They offer Malaysian cuisine at a very reasonable price. I usually go there for breakfast before I start shopping. Their main meals are delicious and they kuih muih’s are fantastic. If you’re in 1 Utama and you’re looking for a place to just have a simple quick meal, you should head here. The only downside to this shop is that the waiters are quite rude sometimes but otherwise, in terms of food, its a very good shop :)

Not to exaggerate, but this chain is one of my favourite Nyonya café restaurant. I have been a huge fan since they opened in Gardens and is super delighter that they have opened more chains across Klang Valley. Not only that, but they have successfully maintained their quality and affordability.
If you are looking for a quick lunch or dinner meal, this place is perfect. They are a self service joint but they would deliver the food. So it’s best you choose a table first and tell them your number when you order. My favourite has to bee mee siam with chicken rendang or their chee cheong fun — which you can opt to mix the classic & curry sauce together.
Dessert wise, cendol, cendol, cendol. OR. Red Ruby, Red Ruby, Red Ruby. Enough said.
Prices are so reasonable, it makes my heart skip a beat whenever im here. This joint is the perfect place for you to get your meal, if you are rushing to catch a movie at TGV. It’s close by and they are quick to serve.

This is a truly nyonya cuisine café that serve decent nyonya kuih for a mall standard and also more expensive than the street vendors. However, once in a while, it is okay to spend a little more on this delicacies.
They do not just serve kuih but also proper meals. As a nasi lemak person, I tried their nasi lemak and it was mediocre. I wish the sambal was a lot more spicier and a bigger portion. The price doesn’t match the portion. Really disappointed. Oh well, at least I know where to avoid when I need a nasi lemak fix.

If you’re shopping in One utama and you decide that you want to take a break without spending too much, this is where you should come. This place is always packed with plenty of customers because of the yummy food and drinks here that are not pricey.
They always have a big variety of nyonya kuih to choose from. My favorite is the kuih talam while my dad loves the sambal pulut which is sticky rice filled with dried shrimp. They also have Assam laksa and other foods here which I have yet to try. Everything here is affordable and service is quick. Definitely a must try if craving for nyonya food.

Nyonya Colors is your typical authentic Malaysian kiosk located in 1Utama. They serve a wide variety of local nyonya flavors ranging from asam laksa, mee Siam, nasi lemak, curry noodles and a host of nyonya kuihs. Because I’m half nyonya, the kuihs are literally my favorite part. I love the pulut kuih dipped in thick, sweet kaya. Reminds me of back when I was a little girl and my grandma would work her magic in the kitchen and produce these little delights for her grandchildren.
Other than the kuih, I must say I’m quite a fan of the asam laksa also. Portion is quite big and taste is delish! Best thing about this place is that the prices are reasonable and the food is tasty!
Definitely a staple pit stop whenever I shop in 1Utama!

Everyone loves a set of juice and snack for breakfast or for a snack just because we’re hungry! this is a place to try for sure! there are a couple of places in One Utama to visit but this one is surely the best! there is always a line in order and the food is worth the wait. too bad they don’t have a seating area but you can eat it on the way!
The staff doesn’t speak english so don’t even try to talk to them: D just point out to the amazing delights they have displayed in there.

You will never miss this shop set up in the centre of all the main retails. I will never fail to walk past this place and often, grab some desert and food. If you’re here on a weekend, do not be surprised by the amazing crowd, despite the lack of seats and tables, people actually are willing to wait. I know I wouldn’t if it was this crowded.
I haven’t tried much here as I stuck to only having their desert here, unless my friends ordered some food, then I’ll begin taxing them. Every visit, I’ll have the cendol, it’s my all time favorite drink and I have really high standards for it. The cendol here passed my test, but it’s only there. The portion is too small for what I paid for and the toppings aren’t even occasionally. Like, I’ll just get a bowl of ice and brown sugar.
Another one of favorites here is the variety of kuih they have here. Especially the Kuih Berlapis, mmmmm. On some visits, I’ll get some for myself there and buy some back for my hidden kuih storage I have at home. *wink*

Nyonya Color is as a stall that sells various type of local foods. They serve local foods such as asam laksa, curry noodles, mee Siam, Nasi kunyit and even desserts like red bean soup. Most importantly, they also carries a wide variety of Nyonya Kuihs.
This stall is my mother in law’s favorite place to have a cuppa Teh Tarik and nasi lemak with chicken Rendang. My parents in law often come here to chill or have lunch after their shopping trip. After eating, she will usually buy some Nyonya kuih home for later consumption. I myself like coming here for their Nyonya kuih. Though they are a little pricy if you were to compare them with those kuih stall in the wet market, but the best part is, they are available any time of the day and everyday of the week (not restricted to morning or night and certain day only such as those stalls in the wet market /​night market).
Kuih Lapis Beras, Ondeh Ondeh, Bingka Ubi, Pulut Inti and Ketayap are all my favorite Nyonya kuih. Of course I didn’t get them all at once, I’ll just get 1 – 2 packet of those kuihs whenever I visit Nyonya Colors. Another thing I like about this place is, their kuih are nicely packaged, hence, it feels more hygienic.
Looking for some local delights or craving for some kuihs? Nyonya Colors is the place to go. Please take note that this particular branch of Nyonya Colors is always packed with people especially during weekends. Might need to wait for your seat.

All time favourite place to go to in One Utama when I’m craving for some local delights. From Nasi Lemak to Ice Kacang, Nonya Colours have a great variety of snacks and light meals for you to choose from.
I’m personally a fan of their Mihun Siam (packet) which is about RM2.50 per pack and of course their Chee Cheong Fun. You’ll probably have to wait for a short while to get a table as it’s usually packed. Local delights at an affordable price! They even have kuih’s and other local snacks such as the Cucur Udang as well!

This restaurant’s specialty is in making Nyonya kueh. Unfortunately, the kueh they sell is not outstanding compared to the kueh sold by street vendors. In the end, the kueh and actually all their food ends up being overpriced. I suppose if you are in 1 Utama and just have a craving for Nyonya food, then that would be the best incentive to go but otherwise, save your money and get it from street vendors. As for the rest of their food, as I mentioned before, it is average. I did like the Yellow Laksa but I’ve tasted better because I found the broth too rich and I got a little sick of the taste after a while. They’re nasi lemak pandan was pretty decent tasting and it was probably the only thing that was not as overpriced as the rest.

I typically frequent their outlet in Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Parade if I’m looking for a less pricey place to eat. They serve the usual nyonya/​local fare such as various kuih, nasi lemak and my favourite the nasi kunyit with chicken curry. I should put it out there that if you want real authentic nyonya kuih, you probably might want to go to those small stalls by the street as they are much cheaper and probably more authentic as they are produced in small batches. Nevertheless, Nyanya Colors does have a fairly nice menu to choose from in terms of variety. Do try their red/​green bean dessert soups as well.

After a meal and one is feeling for a dessert in hopes of not a sweet but savoury one. Nyonya colours is probably the place one can go to. Having a wide variety of sweet and savoury kuih, nyonya colours caters all those kuih and drinks for a reasonable price.
My personal favourite is the sambal pulut which cost MYR 1.40 PER packet. I gotta admit is a little pricy for the portion but its worth for the taste and spicyness. My mum also enjoy the curry puff and kuih lapis. She added that those two might be a little pricy but they are really tasty!
If you guys ever crave for savoury desserts, nyonya colours is the way to go! Rawr!

Everytime when I passby Nyonya Colours, for sure I will definitely smell their asam laksa. Well, although I am not fancy on asam laksa, I still like its smell very much. During tea time, Nyonya Colours is always crowded; especially in the weekend. People love having some kuih-​muih here. They have various type of kuih to be chosen.
Since Nyonya Colours is a kiosk, the space is quite limited. Sometimes, we rather take away unless we want to have their hot dessert such as red bean sweet soup. I preferred to have longan with sea coconut sweet soup. It was delicious. The crews were friendly, they will deliver the food once it was ready (the hot dessert).
Nyonya Colours also serve meals such as nasi lemak and what I have mentioned earlier, asam laksa. However, I never try it before since I don’t eat this local meal. My friend told me the asam laksa was heavenly good that everyone should try. Maybe if you go One Utama Shopping Center next time, you can try this out. Overall, Nyonya Colours is a very good place to have some nyonya kuih. Recharge yourself before continue shopping!

Looking for Nyonya nearby you neighborhood? This place in One Utama is always so crowded and they serve one of the most delicious Asam Laksa that i could smell from miles away and kuih.
Not to mention that the Nasi Lemak is quite famous and service is very fast. They have another branch in Mid Valley, Gardens but the q is more worse then this here. This shows how good the food is.
I personally love the curry mee, not too much santan and not too much curry and really big portion. If you are not full, just eat the nasi lemak and you will want more.

Despite its name being one of the best names I’ve seen from any restaurant or cafes so far, Nyonya Colors is your typical local shop that sell, well, slightly overpriced kuih that might not be as tasty as the ones made outside.
That being said, their kuihs are usually soft and tender, and with the right sweetness that lingers in your mouth. They do sell other local delicacies such as rojak or chicken curry rice, but you will not want that on your first trip there now, would you?
Despite that, this shop is just typical. Maybe too typical for my liking. There are no surprises, no Mad Hatter, no expectations. You just walk in there with a menu in your mind and voila, you will find yourself ordering things you have already tasted. Ah well.

Authentic Nyonya food!
This Kiosk is located opposite Uniqlo on the first floor of One Utama shopping centre. You can’t miss it!
The tables and chairs in the seating area are nyonya-​inspired. It gives off the feel that you’re using tables and chairs from the golden-​days of Melaka when business was at its peak.
Nyoya Colors serves a wide range of nyoya kuih. You name it they have it. I’d recommend ordering the pulut tai tai!
They also serve main courses like chicken curry with rice and fruit rojak!
Their dessert menu features local favourites such as ABC and cendol. Their gula melaka is thick and sticky, the way it should be.
