Pot & Kettle

I came here once when I decided to settle for a café to work offsite and was impressed by the service and cleanliness of this place. It is another hipster café of the many hipster cafes popping up in the damansara area.
They have a lunch menu however I only tried their chocolate cake which was so decadent and creamy as well as their standard latte which I felt had a bit too much milk and became abit too bland for my liking. However, I’m one for strong coffee so this might work for others who prefer a milder taste.
You have the option of sitting outside or inside, where there are cute wooden square tables and white chairs. Admittedly, the chairs were not comfortable (being hard metal with no cushions) hence the main reason why I didn’t stay for longer than 2 hours (moved on to another café with comfier seats!). When I went on a weekday afternoon it was pretty empty, however I’d expect it to be busy on weekends. It’s a very spacious open floor space which allows plenty of movement — and also drowns out the surrounding noise — something which I truly appreciate when I’m at a café.
I’ve been to cafes where the tables are so close to one another that you could literally be forced to listen to every conversational exchange going on at the table next to you without you even wanting to hear any of it.
However, Pot & Kettle does this well and I will be back again with friends and the bf (not work though, as the seats are not comfortable)!

Met up with a few friends for tea a while back and decided to try out Pot & Kettle Café. The café looked pretty new and had quite a variety of desserts such as pavlovas, tartlets, cakes and even crème brûlée. If I’m not wrong, they also serve meals there.
I ordered the molten lava cake and their reese latte cause I thought it was something different. My friends, on the other hand, ordered the raspberry chocolate drink, mars bar cheesecake and a slice of red velvet. The chocolate lava cake wasn’t the usual ones you’d find at restaurants/​café/​dessert bars. It was more like a cross between a brownie and a cookie with a chocolate top. You’re also given hot chocolate sauce to pour on top of the chocolate top, which will then reveal a concave middle.
The chocolate lava cake and Mars bar cheesecake was really good! The red velvet was also quite alright compared to the rest I’ve tried. My friend really liked my Reese latte and I, her raspberry chocolate drink. Service was also good and pricing was average.

This is a nice place to hangout, especially for desserts and coffee. I’ve been a regular customer since they were open for business around mid –2014, and they’ve had all sorts of unique desserts — cakes, crème brulee, pavlovas, and cupcakes — you name it. My one problem with Pot & Kettle is that, while they do have a fix menu, the desserts they offer are always changing. This is mainly because they sell desserts produced by enterprising individuals with side homemade businesses. Hence, I was told that’s the reason supply is not always constant.
For as long as I’ve been a regular here, I’ve only eaten here a few times. I tried their pizza once and wasn’t pleased with it because they use store-​bought tortilla wraps as the base, instead of real pizza dough. I hope they will rectify this though. To me, this is where I go after lunch or dinner to chill. If you like one of their desserts and want to recommend it to a friend, better ask them to hurry up before they’re replace with something else.

Pot & Kettle is perhaps one of the more original restaurants in KL today, but its experience is marred by the execution of the main chef, which is a sad thing indeed.
The triple-​cooked french fries is one of it.
Triple-​cooking slabs of meat is well known to many chefs, but modernistic chefs are more daring, experimenting on starchy products, not knowing that by boiling, freezing and deep frying, the taste of the potato itself would be long gone. Even with the presence of three sauces, the fries tasted like a wet piece of chicken.
Despite that, the garlic-​centric view of the place should be well mentioned. From its pizzas to the smallest snacks, most of the dishes are slapped with garlic, a notion that I like very much indeed.
Do go experience one of the more innovative restaurants in Empire, or around KL, though the pricing and the taste of the food would be much left to be desired.
