Steamboat is very common, but have you ever came across a steamboat that’s made of winter melon? Knew it! There’s a very famous and special steamboat restaurant in Puchong named Low Maji, and their signature would be the Winter Melon Steamboat. It’s a MUST to make reservation for this place! We were being seated right towards to end even with our early reservations. The moment we stepped into the restaurant, I noticed huge winter melons were being pilled up at the entrance. Without second though, we opted for the Winter Melon Steamboat a.k.a Dong Gua Zhong Steamboat. The winter melon was cut into half(or probably more than half) and each of them were carved with a number. We ordered the set which have the similar ingredients of your usual steamboat. The aromatic herbal soup hits our face the moment we opened the lid of the winter melon and we couldn’t wait to add in all the ingredients. Initially, the soup was light but it gets more flavourful and sweeter after cooking it a few rounds with all the meat and vegetables. Halfway through our dinner, the staff came and assist us in cutting out all the meat inside the winter melon. Apart from this, the other attracting point would be the sauces. They offer more than 10 condiments and sauces for you to customized your dipping sauce. If you like steamboat and don’t mind the heat, you really should try out this place. Just remember, make your reservation before going — no matter how many pax you have.
