Sunway Pyramid Ice Skating

Since Malaysia is one of the countries that do not have winter, some Malaysians would like to know how it feels. Well, at Sunway Pyramid, there is an ice skating rink inside the mall itself. For RM22 per person, you can skate all day long and the skates are included in the price. The blue skates are not particularly comfortable though. You would have to add RM5 for the grey skates which are much better.
The ice rink is best right after resurfacing as the surface of the ice is just nice and smooth. If you come at the time where there’s a lot of people, then the surface of the ice can be seen as watery. Therefore, if you trip and fall, you can expect to get quite wet.
Oh and this is important, you need to wear gloves when you’re in the rink or else you’d have to buy one. All and all, ice skating is a nice and fun experience. But I would recommend that you go in the morning where there aren’t a lot of people and the surface of the ice is just nice.

I’ve taken skating lessons here when i was about 5 or 6 years old and I absolutely loved learning how to skate. SInce then I’ve been back here several times a year to skate for a few hours. The admission rate is such:
RM20 weekday and RM25 weekend
I think its really worth it cause you can skate for a aslong as you want, there is no cap on your time. there is a shop inside that sells food and drinks so you can have lunch or some snacks if you get hungry. The ‘Ice Police’ i find very helpful in keeping everyone in order and safe. They even help you if you fall and can’t get up. You can bring your own socks and gloves, but if you don’t have any you can buy them at the counter.
Anyone who likes physical activity or trying something new should definitely spend a day here. i can easily say that ice skating is my favorite past time.

This is probably one of the earliest shopping malls in Malaysia to incorporate an ice skating rink or perhaps the very first ice skating rink in Malaysia. I remembered that this is one of the more awesome malls to visit partly due to the fact that they have an ice skating rink. I personally had a lot of great memories at this place, having a great time with school friends. I have to admit it takes awhile to get used to, especially the balancing and stopping part.
Other than being a public ice skating rink, most of the Malaysian Ice Hockey activities and tournaments are held in this skating rink too (probably due to the fact that this rink is very well maintained). Generally this is a great place to have fun and exercise at the same time, though it may not be suitable for elderly people. Please take note that this place can be very crowded during the weekends especially during school holidays, so please make sure to arrive early to ensure that you can skate comfortably.
I will definitely visit this place again.

The Sunway Pyramid Ice Skating ring is normally very crowded during the weekends so it’s best if you come during the weekdays where all the kids are at school. For those of you who have no idea how to skate, that’s okay because they have people there to help you and you can hold on to the side if you ever need to. There are also classes for those of you who are willing to join.
If you are really serious about ice skating, you could buy your very own pair of skating shoes, bag, costume, etc at the ice skating shop near the entrance. Every once in a while, they will resurface the ice so it will very smooth.

First ice-​skating rink in Malaysia. Sunway pyramid offer large rink size that surely hard enough for newbie to skate around. hihi. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to skate. Learn to skate slowly by holding your friends or skate around the rink corner.
The price charged will depends on holiday and weekend. Normal weekday (RM 20), weekend (RM 25), public holiday (RM28).
The facilities for the skater such locker, seats are good. The ice will be always on maintenance (ice resurfacing), so there are no problem with the ice since it still smooth.
The location is in the mall. Highly recommended for people who want to do something productive on your leisure time.
