Carlos ‘n Charlie’s Cancún

El restaurante es bueno y lo que lo hace bueno es el ambiente es lo único que logra rescatar a ese lugar ya que el servicio no es muy bueno la última vez que fui hubo mucha lentitud en el servicio, aunque me dio explicación de que era por el sistema que ellos manejan y que le costaba adaptarse a el, en el sabor de la comida lo considero muy bueno aunque es el mismo problema tardan mucho en servirte pero vale la pena la espera.
Algo que se distingue de este restaurante es la música y los shows, bailes y otras dinámicas que hacen con los clientes que se encuentran en ese momento te hacen vivir una muy buena experiencia.
Los baños de ese lugar son muy limpios y de las veces que he ido por lo regular siempre lo encuentro impecable y con un rico aroma.
Por esa razón lo califico con 4 estrellas.

This place is one of those fun señor frog type places where they drop plates and make a ruckus for fun and make balloon animals. The food was decent but I didn’t like being hit up for money every few minutes. The balloon men wanted money, the guacamole man wanted money etc and we were only there for a half hour. The drinks did look fun. The guac is made fresh in front of you which is a nice touch.

Super fun to hang out there. We went on a hot evening for dinner and drinks. We got seated relatively quickly and got ourselves a window side seat with a view of Coco Bongo. Later found out how strategic that seat was when the line for Coco Bongo started mounting and random flash mob dances started taking place.
Food was moderately good and drinks were at par. But what made up the experience was the ambiance and the hyper cool staff. My wife and I went out to dance salsa with the staff several times, and they made random balloon shapes to make it fun.
Recommendation is to go on a weekend evening, but prepare to spend time there to witness the fun around from the comfort of your seats, indulge in the experiences that come to offer, and order the fresh made Guacamole. Have fun.

Really friendly staff! Good place for mexican-​american party. Staff attentive and taking care of you. Food good and in big portion. Worth a visit.

Possibly the worst service we’ve had so far in Cancun. This place used to deliver good music and fun atmosphere in a family friendly environment. Now is nothing but a noise box, catering to those who are already drunk when they arrive. It took 40 minutes to get a soft drink. When I asked for the manager, Ricardo offered to give us free shots to make up for the crap service. Stay away from this place is you are looking for a good meal in Cancun. We won’t be back to Carlos & Charlie’s.

Hace unos 4 años fui a Carlos n Charlies y la verdad no me gustó, esta vez me invitaron unos amigos y no podía decir que no, nuevamente recordé por qué no me gustaba, por parte de las hostes, hicimos reservación pero nunca nos encontraron en la lista así que nos dejaron parados 30m aproximadamente, en ese tiempo nadie se acercó para decirnos en cuanto tiempo estaríà la mesa o para ofrecernos algo, hasta que hablamos con otra hostes (de mala actitud) fue que nos dieron la mesa. Les doy 3 estrellas solo por las bebidas y por la actitud de mi mesero, porque la comida tampoco es nada wow.

Lackluster food, loud/​obnoxious almost circus like atmosphere, and the same overbearing customer service typical of Cancun (no I would not like a balloon hat). Would not recommend on the background noises and sound effects alone. Best way to describe the restaurant is it was a tourist trap.

Atmosphere is fun. They do whatever it takes to make tip: balloon making, tequila shots, pictures, etc.
Food is whatevers. not authentic Mexican food. Portions are huge. The waiters are rowdy and loud. If you go with girls. the guy waiters will be all over you so it’s kind of creepy but funny. Lol. Their coke is super watered down. I wouldn’t go back here just cuz the food wasn’t worth it. But if you’re with a big group of people and especially if they’re drunk, it’s a fun atmosphere.

Good place, We went in the early afternoon, so it was a bit slow. However, the bartender Nancy was really cool. The drinks were great and we order some nachos, the nachos were huge and really good. Whenever, I’m back in Cancun, I would definitely check this place out again.

This place is disgusting!!! Went there after walking the terrible strip there. When I ordered the nachos the waiter asked us what size I wanted. I told them small and he said no. I waved it off and went with the flow. The food was so bland and gross I didn’t even touch it. I ordered patron because I thought that would be a safe bet. When I asked the waiter how much the shots would be he said about 100 pesos. When the check came they had charged us 400 pesos for 2 shots. After bitching out the manager they changed our bill. Stay away from this restaurant. I wish I would have saved this money to give it to the people as tips who actually deserve it. Any taxi driver who recommends this place is a an ass. Don’t listen!!!

Buen lugar! Si quieres cenar algo rico y pasar una noche divertida. Para divertirse y beber algo, en un ambiente mas tranquilo que los antros de al rededor.

I would definitely agree with the place being over priced and loud. BUT, you are in Mexico and everything is overpriced. No matter what you want to get or where you want to go, you are going to pay more money. They know its primarily tourists so they will jack up the prices. Side note-​I paid $ 20 for a 3oz of baby powder and aloe vera at a drug store. I think that proves a point. If you expect or want to eat in Downtown, be prepared to spend money no matter where you eat. EVERYTHING IN DOWNTOWN IS EXPENSIVE, loud, and not romantic.
Food is excellent. We got the fajitas, and fried shrimp tacos. They were DELICIOUS!!! We even got the guacamole as an appetizer. Charlie made it for us and it was good. I wish I got to make my own because it would’ve been a little better.
I did not like the whistle blowing constantly. I understood when it was once in awhile or when something was about to go down, but not every two seconds just because you are trying to get someone to buy shots. Yes, there are ladies who walk around blowing whistles trying to get you to buy shots of tequila, and jello shots. I think its fine, just stop blowing the whistle so much. I think her name was Nelly, and she made it really fun for our table. Coming around with shots is a great idea so we don’t have to wait to get them. It is loud like a night club but they have music with the staff dancing, and entertaining us. I think that made the dinner that much more fun. You don’t go to downtown to expect a romantic place to eat and I don’t think you should bring your children to downtown to eat at night either. Every restaurant in downtown at night is competing for whose more fun, being the loudest, and having the best music. If you ever have been to Dicks Last Resort, its sort of like that kind of atmosphere!
All and all, I’d recommend if you are okay with everything I mentioned. We went as a group ages 23 – 30 years old, and we loved it!!!

A fun place if you’re not too worried about how much money you’ll spend. Waiters were entertaining. Atmosphere is very club-​like and rowdy. Good way to start off your night. Drinks are expensive, so be aware of what you’re ordering.

This place is such a rip off. We asked the waiter for margarita and asked how big is the margarita. He responded by drawing a picture of it on the table (they use thick paper to cover the table). We assumed it was a drawing of the actual size of the margarita. We were way wrong! When they came out it was about 2 feet tall! And like $ 25! They basically just lied to us so that they could sell us a huge drink. Bottom lines Cancun is all thief. Beautiful place but people here is so greedy about money, they will try anything to get more money out of you.

Went here to try and watch some american football on a Sunday. The place was empty but still had a fun vibe. We got margaritas which were tasty but really expensive. They come in all different sizes too. The bartender gave us free tequila floaters and free shots that were good but after we turned down the $ 30 picture of us in sombreros the attention slowed. The ceviche was actually really delicious and at a great price. All in all we got ceviche, two small and one big margarita, chicken tacos and chips with pico for $ 81 not including tip. A bit too expensive for what we got but it was a decent place to sit.

It is sad that after enjoying so much the vibe and energy and amazing service at C&C in Las Vegas las year, i have this bad experience in Mexico, I thought that principles and the value of a customer will be on top of everything since you are a franchise .
I was there mid November, just 2 of us, I will say it was 60% capacity, I guess because it was early; server was busy so the MOD took the order after waiting a for a few, the wait was ok there is so much going on that you can’t be bored, I think the name of the manager is Javier, we order 2 sodas he ask S, M or L we said small, but it didn’t came with a refill so we went for medium, without being inform that it will cost $ 10 each, when I talk to the sever Miguel about this, letting him know that I think it was abusive to customers the fact that I wasn’t inform about the price he said «well is on the menu» I don’t agree if that is the policy in order to up sale, knowing the price is way of from other places and what is consider medium.
So I mention the souvenir cup as part of being charge so much for a soda, he said he will let me take them, he will? I thought, wasn’t I charge for it? Anyway so I got two re washed plastic glasses and straw both wet straight from the washer machine, gross me out!!! That mean I had someone else straw too!!! Double grossed out.
I don’t think health department will be happy with this procedures .

Es un lugar que recuerdo con cariño ya que hace algunos años mi papá realizo algunas remodelaciones a su locación.
Es un concepto SUPER SUPER SUPER AMERICANO con un menú bastante variado en el que puedes encontrarCarnes, pastas y hasta tacos.
El ambiente es agradable y los meseros verdaderamente divertidos, funcionando también como animadores te garantizan una amena visita.
Los precios son como medianos… ni muy muy ni tan tan… obvio aceptan tarjeta.
Es bueno para cumpleaños con amigos.

Carlos’ n Charlies es un restaurante americano muy conocido y con franquicias por todos lados, es un restaurante de comida variada, puedes encontrar carne, pasta, de todo un poco pero lo que mas vale la pena de Carlos’n Charlies es el ambiente en la zona hotelera, siempre esta lleno de turistas, principalmente americanos.
Cuando es tu cumpleaños o una ocasión especial, los meseros suelen darte un pastel y cantar feliz cumpleaños y se aseguran que se escuche por toda la zona hotelera, me encanta este restaurante por el ambiente del interior.
La comida es bastante buena y el alcohol igual es bueno, también las bebidas sin alcohol son bastante buenas, especialmente las que son heladas.
El precio del restaurante es un poco elevado, por la zona en la que se encuentra y por que es conocido que de por si esta cadena es un poco costosa.
Pero vale totalmente la pena ir a comer a este lugar con amigos a pasar un buen rato.

Vacaciones en Cancún sin visitar este lugar no son vacaciones en Cancún! Y cuando digo esto es porque en verdad se respira el mejor ambiente fiestero, y creo que eso se debe a que está ubicado en el área de antros y podría decirse que esta a las afueras de plaza forum a un lado de la popular guitarra gigante, punto que también es famosísimo en la ciudad.
Es el lugar ideal para crear recuerdos inolvidables e increíblemente fiesteros, sus meseros siempre están buscando poner a todas las mesas el mejor ambiente con sombreros, silbatos y la famosa tradición es que cada que te tomas un shoot deben moverte la cabeza de una manera loca, que hasta el día de hoy no logro entender el propósito de esto, que quizá me imagino es para que entres en ambiente más rápido.
La pasaras muy bien!

Let me start this with saying we will never go to Cancun again, unless flying through on the way to Playa Del Carmen or Tulum.

On our last night in Cancun we couldn’t stand being sequestered in our all-​inclusive resort for one more tired ass buffet so we ventured out into Cancun and stumbled upon Carlos & Charlie’s.
The place was pretty busy on a Sunday night and loud as a nightclub on crack. We were first seated in a table off to the side but after sitting down I was slapped in the face with a thick wave of vomit. We both smelled it straight up puke from god knows who or where but it was unmistakable and pungent.
We were moved to the only other available table which was right in the thick of the craziness coming from the bar area. Don’t expect a romantic or calm evening here. It was a meal full of constant whistle blowing and loud music. You won’t have time to pick up your menu before some pushy waitress talks you into shots she’s carrying around with her. She will then proceed to grab your boobs and your husband’s boobs. Oddly enough, neither of us was phased by this ambush of fondling, which maybe says more about us and less about her.
Whatever you do, do not order the guacamole I repeat do not order the guacamole. Unless of course you enjoy being the center of what I’m not sure would be considered the right kind of attention or not since I prefer to hide in a den of solitude than be center stage.
If you do order the guacamole, you will be forced to make it yourself while wearing a giant chef outfit while whistles are blowing and people are staring like a monkey in a cage. I was scolded for putting in too much salt but clearly Juan didn’t know salt is my favorite food. If you’re going to make me make my own appetizer, you cannot scold me like my mother does about my salt addiction. We all have our vices and at least I don’t snort mine up my nose.
All in all, we loosened up after the vomit and the DIY avocado and enjoyed ourselves. Not sure what gave me a bigger headache, the whistles, the Jäger or the sodium, but bring the Advil.
As I mentioned, I’d rather spend a week in a straight jacket in a basement in Utah than a week in Cancun, but C & C provided a fun place to get away from the prison that was the Riu Cancun.
P. S. We split the fajitas and that was plenty of food after all the salsa, chips and guacamole, oh and Jäger.

Carlos and Charlies un restaurante, bar con música en vivo. Loa sábados son noches de salsa, así que toca banda en vivo de cubanos, para quienes gustamos de éste tipo de música la pasamos genial, pues la banda toca padrisimo, pone un ambiente prendidisimo, los meseros son expertos en pasarla bailando y prendiendo el lugar.
Lo recomiendo para cenar, ejemplo con un plato de botana al cwntro pagas 380 pesos, y comen 4 personas, los tragos normalmente precios entre 80 – 100 pesos.
Digamos que aquí vas si tienes ganas y dinero de bailar, sentarte, cenar y en promedio pagas 300 por persona o si vas solo a tomar algun trago en Yarda promedio 150 pesos.
Ambiente caribeño, la única sugerencia que la fiesta acabe más tarde! Pues a las 2am deja de tocar la banda, upss uno está en plena fiesta y bueno migras a otro antro.

De las mejores cena-​baile-​show las he vivido en el Carlos and Charlies. Este lugar es diversión pura, comida exquisita, tragos coquetos que luego se vuelven más que coquetos, servicio de primera, atención, animación y una calidad extraordinaria en su forma de consentir y atender a todos y cada uno de sus clientes.
Este lugar es tanto para jóvenes como para muy adultos, es para todas las edades ya que la felicidades, las risas y el baile trascienden épocas y edades. Déjate consentir por el ambiente y buen gusto de este lugar y pasa una noche de fiesta loca. Tienen un menú bastante variado, bebidas exóticas, cerveza de barril, cocteles exclusivos, muchos shots de tequila y sus tradicionales mega yardas de margaritas o bebida favorita. Nada más hay que tener cuidado. Con las primeras dos yardas vas a comenzar a enfiestarte.
Padrísimo para ir a celebrar el cumpleaños de los amigos o para pasar una noche loca e intensa. Los meseros en determinado tiempo hacen sus shows y coreografías y los bartenders igual. Un ambiente realmente único que solo lo encontrarás en el Charlies!

First of all, I’m not very fond of loud places, they make me feel uncomfortable… I don’t know how my boyfriend can be my boyfriend after all… we are so different in so many ways, while i rather be in a quiet restaurant he absolutely adored the fact that this place is way loud.
I did had a good time, but its WAY overrated and WAY EXPENSIVE.
The food was mediocre, I could call my self a lover for hamburgers and this one was a completely disgrace. I didn’t like it, I didn’t like it at all.
If I had known that going there would make me greet my worst fear of all I wouldn’t have gotten there in the first place.
What am I talking about?
CLOWNS!
I HATE CLOWNS! They terrify me in a way that I cannot even describe. And to my surprise there was a waiter or whatever he was, dressed up as a clown.
I wouldn’t go back in a while, as long as they have that clown there.

Crappy, bacteria — infected place! This place is horrible all the way around. We got food poisoning (giardia) from the ceviche. I knew it was bad when we first went in, but we gave it a try. Don’t waste your time or your GI tract to this place! The «tequila girl» was also such a bad, nasty addition. I would recommend Maracame Restaurant!!! Much better.

Overpriced. But for this you’ll get to dance, jump around, have balloon hats put on your heads. Basically, you can do everything. The waiters are very friendly but do expect a generous tip.

This place is in fact a ripoff. The food was average but waaay overpriced. Two meals and soft drinks came to about $ 80. The place is very loud and you have an annoying girl walking around trying to sell you shots. The worst part was our waiter sucked and then had the nerve to write in his own tip of over 20% and said ok sign here… I said what is this, and then he replied «oh well that amount is optional»… well if it’s optional dont write it in for me.

Ready to be ripped off? Well then I have some great news for you, you’ve found just the place in Carlos ‘n Charlie’s. Empty those wallets, amigos!
I know, I know, they’re a chain, but the fact of the matter is that Cancun is loaded with chains and you have little to no option to go anywhere else when in the hotel zone. I tried to look at the bright side of things when it came to walking into this tourist trap by thinking that a larger establishment must carry a certain level of honesty and quality. Boy was I wrong…
From the start we were sweet talked into beverages bigger than our heads and they didn’t come cheap. Fair enough, we were suckers on that one but what was yet to come set me ablaze — unlike the Flaming Dr. Pepper shots we ordered. I’ve had these shots before in the USA and they’re always a blast, but a Carlos ‘n Charlie’s they’re most certainly a bust.
What is a Flaming Dr. Pepper? Well, my short answer is a Mexican ripoff shot but the bartender’s bible describes it this way…
Fill a shot glass ¾ full with amaretto.
Slowly float the overproof rum to fill the glass.
Fill a pint glass with beer.
Ignite the contents of the shot glass.
Blow out the flame, drop the shot glass into the beer, and drink in one gulp.
Key words: IGNITE THE CONTENTS OF THE SHOT GLASS
It took these guys 20 minutes to light these damn shots… uh, you think they may have made them incorrectly? Yeah, completely wrong. I even told the waiter that the shots were prepared wrong, they should ignite immediately and he agreed. Finally one ignites, then a second, eventually a third and an eternity later with added 151 we had them all barely burning before they rushed them down our throats before going out — what a racket! I tried to discuss with the manager for over twenty minutes that they were pulling a fast one on us and he clearly could not care any less. «You drank them, hombre.»
The part that really burned? $ 80+ for seven shots. Viva Mexico!
