Omni Hotel and Villas

Great place! I gave 3 stars because in some areas service was a bit slow, although always wonderfully friendly! Also, one or two more restaurants on the resort would definitely be a plus. There are 4 now, 3 of which you need reservations for beforehand. Mostly, though, the 3 stars are due to the wifi connection (fine in lobby area, but absolutely horrible in the rooms). Other than these few complaints we had a lovely trip!
Very friendly staff! Great drinks. Also, there is a convenience shop right across the street from the resort with medicine, snacks, etc. We walked there one day with no trouble at all. We also went downtown one night, which we were nervous about, but ended up being really fun and we got back to the Omni with no trouble at all.
Check-​in & check-​out were a breeze– super quick!

This was my s/o’s and my first vacation together and we had the best time! First time staying in Mexico and at an all in-​inclusive resort.
Service:
Front desk and concierge staff were amazing! They were very helpful and friendly. Our check in was a breeze. Staff at all the restaurants were very attentive and friendly! The staff at the lounge bar seemed annoyed every time we ordered drinks. I have no idea if this was just to us or if everyone felt this way, because we tipped at least a few dollars every single time we ordered from them.
Food:
Food in the da Vinci was to die for. I saw everyone positing rave reviews about the restaurant and I honestly expected an Olive Garden on steroids kind of thing, but it was on a whole different level of Italian food. We reserved a table twice during our trip, we loved it so much. We weren’t able to get in for dinner until 9 pm both times, which was totally fine by us, just a heads up for those that like to eat early. We had a $ 50 credit from booking through Costco and we got a bottle of wine with dinner that was fabulous as well. The buffet was pretty bland every day, but I completely understand it’s hard with buffet food to get it tasting great all the time. We still are there and I definitely didn’t dislike it, just didn’t like it so much either. Not a fan of the sushi bar at all, but living in Seattle does kind of make me spoiled to the quality of sushi I’ve been exposed to. La deva was ok, again spoiled by living in Seattle with my exposure to Asian food has made me a bit picky. We loved the fried rice and the Indonesian taco appetizer, however.
Room:
Room was extremely clean. Loved the bathroom/​getting ready area. The mirrors were big and bright, and I loved the shower. The mini bar was well stocked I only wish they had liquor in our rooms as well (included was juice, water, soda, and beer). We did request one bed but we got two doubles. They offered to try and switch us the next day, but the view from our room was so gorgeous we just stayed and the two of us fit comfortably in one bed anyway. Seriously the ocean view was spectacular. We were towards the middle too so we could watch all the night shows from our balcony if we wished. My only gripe with the room is that I have a pretty bad back, and the beds were pretty hard. Hotel staff was very accommodating and got me blankets to layer up, but I still slept pretty awful.
Property:
A lot of people complained about not having a lounge chair to relax in, however, that didn’t bother us at all. We simply took our towels down to the beach and laid them out. We loved lounging on the sand. I wish they had one more hot tub. One hot tub was mostly over run by families during the day, and the other by the bar was so full because it was the only other option. The pool was too cold in my opinion to use. If it was warm out I wouldn’t have minded as much but it was upper 70’s with a breeze most of the time.
Entertainment:
The resort itself has a nightly show which was cute, but totally not our thing. There are lots of activities you can book for the day time (the hotel has travel agents that can help you choose and book). We went to tulum (cultural ruins) on a guided tour and xel ha (worlds biggest aquarium). I wouldn’t recommend going to tulum on its own without bundling another trip. It’s a long drive from the hotel zone and you see everything in a couple of hours. Xe Hal is basically a water park you can snorkel in with unlimited food and drinks. Make sure you check the weather if you book xe Hal. We would have had a lot more fun if it was nicer out but it was windy and rained the second half of the day so we didn’t want to get in the water much. The next day we went to isla mujeras. Highly recommend! It was our favorite day BY FAR. We bused from our hotel and bought a ferry pass (all extremely easy by the way, I was a bit scared to do this on our own and was pleasantly surprised). We rented a scooter when we arrived, cruised the island a few times and got some amazing seafood! Seriously best food on the whole trip. I believe it was called miramar. We got the seafood platter for two and I had the best cocktail of the trip (coconut melon daiquiri inside of a coconut). As for nighttime entertainment, there are nightclubs around you can either book packages or go on your own. We go out all the time in Seattle, so we wanted to relax and not do anything crazy at night. That being said, we wished there were movies to rent or something of that nature in our room for the evenings. There were some channels in English and luckily Harry Potter was playing a few nights though haha
Overall: I really enjoyed our stay and it was a great «starter vacation» for my boyfriend and I. The staff was extremely accommodating and the property was gorgeous. On our next visit we might visit another resort just to check out other options. This resort was a fantastic deal for the price and we had a great time!

We are finishing our week vacation here in Omni. my experience here was perfect from the beutiful beach to the food in the buffet room. The only thing as to why I didn’t give a five star was the pools were not heated. However, we will be back to Omni again. Buy the way, don’t miss some of the excursions in the area even one hour or more away. Well worth it. Chichen itza, IL Kil cenote, Playa del Carmen, and Cozomel.

Just got back from a week here and miss it so much! All inclusive all accommodating everything! Check in was a breeze with drinks served at the greet. We avoided the time share people dressed in black polos by going straight to the bellhop who took us straight to the room. Amazingly clean room, hotel, resort. There are many staff members always cleaning, painting, fixing. I never heard «no» from anyone who worked there.
There is free WiFi. The strongest was at the lobby but I could text and had Internet access in our room, the pool area, and even on the beach!!! We had pretty strong signals in our room and could Skype our children with no problems.
There are nightly shows. We missed most of them as we tended to eat during their times but they looked entertaining. We ate at all the restaurants except the steak house as it was closed on the day we designated to eat there. All the restaurants were closed one day a week, so make sure you know which is closed when, if that matters to you. We enjoyed everything served at each and every restaurant/​buffet. Things are kept clean, stocked, and such a great variety. My husband loved the curry at Deva and the Hawaiian Burger at the Mexican restaurant. Pina Colada had so many delicious appetizers and main dishes. We were not disappointed. They make an awesome cappuccino and always obliged our to go orders.
The beach was well kept and clean. No algae on the shores. There was ample chairs in the cabanas both on and off the beach. The beach service was one every hour. But not a far walk if needed sooner than that. The hotel has 3 pools and 2 hot tub areas, one a swim up bar, we hot tub bar? One pool is a kiddie pool and knee high. The other one is bigger and next to the burger/​fried food lunch place.
The store in the hotel has all you need so you don’t have to leave the resort at reasonable prices.
The front desk exchanges dollars to pesos for FREE!!! So glad we didn’t exchange at the airport or currency exchange.
So glad we decided to stay here! Will for sure be back!!!

I couldn’t believe it at first but they weren’t kidding. The food was delicious and the staff was absolutely amazing. No complaints. Will go back next year.

On average, it’s a good place to stay for chilling out. It’s a little troublesome that they gave us a room with two beds for honeymoon but they addressed that on the second day. Foods are good and at la polama they have different cuisines rotating. And for the piña colada, it has great view and the fried ice cream is the best at la Veda. Da Vinci is disappointing that they refuse to serve more when I’m not full and surprised that I want salad after entrée. I know how Italian food works but it’s my vacation why I can’t just enjoy myself. And after we sorted out the food they never come back for adding water and wine like they just disappeared. And I ordered some cocktail and I didn’t finish them but it’s not my fault that it’s more like sugar water. So we did have our anniversary dinner there later. Bummer.
Room cleaning is ok and bar is great. We live the lady who serves us and we had a good time with wine and snacks and great chats. Swimming pools are a bit limited but still good to have some fun there and they have different games at the swim up bar. I like that :). Not too bad and it can do better still. And most ppl are just nice and welcoming

Quick Review: This hotel is old but very well maintained. There is always someone cleaning. Check in was a breeze, we were offered welcome cocktails & in our room in no time. It’s off season so they are upgrading the bathrooms and the noise level made it impossible to sleep in or take a quick power nap before dinner. The buffet food was at times just barely edible and gets old very quickly (same food daily). Viva Mexico looked so promising — it’s difficult to get tacos wrong but was just okay. The service in all the bars and restaurants is excellent, the staff gets hospitality well.
Tips: Buffet Breakfast is carb heavy (cereal, waffles, pancakes, french toast, toast, bagels, pastries, etc.) but there are some good protein options as well including a cheese station and an omelet station (omelet station will make eggs your way and quesadilla’s as well — breakfast quesadilla’s were good!). Didn’t eat lunch there but thought dinner was pretty dreadful the two nights we attended. Also, when there is a dinner show — the buffet is moved to the show room where you have to sit at large banquet style tables with random strangers (awkward). I’m not into dinner shows at all, or dining with random strangers, plus the dinner food was just barely edible (Michael Jackson show was actually pretty good though). Da Vinci’s is good — so make as many reservations for that place as you can or you’ll be sorry! We ended up eating dinner off property twice! Room service was good and fast but there is a $ 5 delivery fee.
Resort credits that may come w/​your package deal can’t be used for anything but dry cleaning and the spa (or bottle of alcohol which is silly since it’s all inclusive). I was very disappointed that my resort credit couldn’t be used for a cabana reservation.
Tip everyone! The service is already fantastic but goes to another level when you take care of the excellent staff!
I would stay here again in a heart beat!

What can I say about this place other than I love it, love it, love it! Gorgeous views and I’m not just talking about the ocean :) big spacious villas with exceptional and postcard views of the beach, a friendly and courteous staff and most importantly unlimited amounts of alcohol and food during our all inclusive stay!
Check in was slow since we only saw 2 people working the desk that day. We booked a 3 story villa that was spacious and literally a couple of hundred feet away from the ocean, what a nice and serene way to wake up every morning to such a picturesque view.
As an all inclusive vacationer our fridge was always well stocked with liquids and restocked quickly when we were running low. This is one of the older hotel in this hotel zone the staff is courteous and quality of food exceeded my expectations. We dined in a International buffet that had a little bit of everything, Indonesian, Italian/​Mediterranean cuisine, Sushi, Mexican, Americana and the list goes on.
The resort had activities planned out for every day and night. A night market by the pool area was also set up on occasion for your buying pleasure. Now If you want to venture out to see the Ancient Mayan ruins or do something outside of the resort, there are several different travel agencies set up in the lobby area offering daily trips.
We used Caracol travel to plan our day trip away from the resort just to break up the monotony. I felt comfortable with Caracol since they were the same people the hotel had listed on their site. I probably could have gotten my tour a little cheaper by booking it myself online, but Francisco was a pleasure to deal with so we went with him to set up our next day travel to the Mayan ruins in Tulum and Coba.
The worst part of the whole trip was when we had to leave :(But I will return — I guarantee it!

Absolutely loved this place! I don’t have a single bad thing to say about Omni.
We booked an all-​inclusive trip via Expedia… so worth it! Don’t hesitate to book a stay here. The staff was very friendly and attentive, very welcoming. They allowed us to check in early at no additional cost as our flight had arrived a few hours prior to check in time. The hotel is just gorgeous… I was amazed the minute we walked in. The view from our room was just what we hoped for… very scenic.
Our all inclusive package was great, unlimited drinks, unlimited food, free room service, and an inexpensive flight all for a great price. My favorite meal of the day was breakfast… lunch and dinner options were ok… not anything fancy but that’s what you should expect from an all-​inclusive deal. Not bad by any means. You also get the option to dine at a fine dining Italian restaurant that’s on the premises or a Mediterranean restaurant if I’m correct. We went with the Italian option and we have 0 regrets. We will definitely be returning to this resort.
We loved the beach front cabanas and bar (jacuzzi bar). We enjoyed every part of our stay… I was very sad to leave. Thank you Omni for such a great experience! Can’t wait to be back!

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They really make you feel like your needs are being met.
This week the family and I are doing the all inclusive. So All you can eat, all you can drink and 24hr room service, but with a small fee of $ 5, we used it once already. I was hung over and needed that late night snack.
The gym is a good size, seems like the machines are a little old, but whose main concern on a trip to Mexico is workingout anyway. They have a steam room, a spa, tennis courts, basketball courts, beach volleyball, and soccer nets on the beach.
They have villas on the beach which you cam reserve for a hefty fee. They also have massage tables on the beach but you need to reserve a time for the session.
The food is great! Various choices! More than I can explain but one thing surprised me is that their sushi was really good!
We are staying for 6 nights 7 days. As of now we hit up the Mayan Pyramids and also a cave where you can jump ledges and swim. Its a must do in my book!!!
The rooms are clean, the help keeps every room tidy and filled as promised. Their is live music at night and a bunch of other activities for the night lovers out there!
All in all this trip has been great!

Great hotel. Having a great time here. Wifi access, computer room with printers (we printed our online tour passes here). Great all inclusive food at all restaurants. The fridge in the room is restocked daily with water, soda, juice, and yes beer too (included in the all inclusive). Great pools, beach access from the hotel. Cancun is awesome.
We booked our tours with go Mexico through cancun discounts. We did The chichen itza tour and it was staffed by professional tour guides and bus driver
FYI there’s a Walmart nearby in cancun just walk outside you’re hotel and take bus R-2(ask driver for Walmart stop and he will let you know when to get off). Walmart prices are way better tha. Resort prices. They have souvenirs and all the stuff from the tour destinations and at good prices. And they take credit and debit.

Great place to stay. The staff were all awesome! The food was mediocre as I think they were trying to accommodate the palate of tourists which resulted in bland food. Sushi was crap so don’t expect anything. However, to make up for it, the customer service was great, the rooms were always clean, the drinks were sweet and flavorful. Note: At 12 noon they have about 40 melon drinks which goes quick! So don’t waste time like I did.
The kuku’s bar is the spot to be with a great view! Thai beds on the beach are extra $ 50 and need reservations. All inclusive is the way to go at this place since it’s all about tending to your needs. If you’re not ready to splurge, don’t come here. If you’re ready to cough that moolah and want people waiting on your every need… OMNI is the way to go! Wifi is not very strong at my room so the best place is probably the lobby.
Try and get a deal with orbitz or get a
as it saves you money somewhat. Try to get some cash back through a site call ebates (send me a message asking for ebates invite so that we both get some money back!)

Oh, hello, paradise!
My fiancé and I have been fortunate enough to stay here two years in a row, taking a much-​appreciated break from the excess of snow, ice and cold back home. The resort appeared to be a little busier the second time around, although we traveled over the same week.
I’ll start with the crappy things and move on towards the people who make this place worth visiting. First, the front desk is a hot mess. There are up to four clerks at the desk at any time and only one person has a bank, so if you need change, you may be waiting a while. The associates there seem to be pretty stressed and not very welcoming, which really ruins the first impression. It probably does not help that they have to deal with some questionable guests (one young woman in line near me was letting a baby crawl on the counter!) In addition, getting change is a very annoying process – not only did I have to wait for the ONE person with change, but I had to give her my room number and sign a form. She also made another copy of my passport. Is this really necessary to exchange a $ 5 bill for pesos?
The other really annoying thing is the battle for beach chairs. If you want a beach chair at all, you better get there by about 10 a.m., which is when drink service starts. Front row? Get there no later than 7:45 a.m., or wait until about 3 p.m. when people start to migrate towards the pools and hot tub. We ended up going down to the beach as soon as we awoke, claiming our chairs and returning immediately after breakfast. Some people didn’t come down for hours, which seems rather unfair. The hotel does appear to be expanding this area by planting palm trees and introducing nicer chairs with covers, but it may be a while before this stops being a source of contention.
On to the good stuff! The food is good, although I came down with some sort of foodborne illness on our last two days. We believe this to be from the white bean soup served at Da Vinci, which is the only thing I ate exclusively on those days that my fiancé did not. Regardless, I’m over it. Oh, and get this: the new steakhouse across from the lobby? They charge a $ 35 fee per person to dine there! Apparently, the food here is worth the upcharge, but it would have been a waste for a vegetarian like me. :(Sorry honey.
Okay, REALLY on to the good stuff. Here are the Omni associates that made our stay (s):
Beatriz! While our designated beverage server on the beach devoted most of her attention to a large party on the beach, Beatriz kindly stepped in. She is by far the most attentive, always remembering our drink orders and providing prompt service.
Enrique! We were lucky enough to be seated in Enrique’s section two nights in a row at Da Vinci. He went out of his way to find the ideal entrée for my fiancé, who couldn’t quite decide at first. Plus, he has a great sense of humor, which made this otherwise stuffy little restaurant far more enjoyable.
Miguel! I swear he is always there every time we dine at La Paloma – and always with a positive energy and smile on his face.
Of course, I saved the best for last – dear Orlando. My fiancé had some great conversations with him on our first visit and we were delighted with the special drinks he created. FI nudged me while we were sitting in the hot tub bar and noted that Orlando was tending the bar. To our surprised, when he looked up, he saw Kurt and greeted us! We couldn’t believe that he would remember us a full year later! We made sure to visit him every day after he explained the rotations that the bartenders make around the property (I suppose this is to ensure fairness – obviously, guests tip more at certain outlets.)
Overall, a great place to stay in Cancun. See you next time, Omni!

This is a beautiful all inclusive hotel, there are soo many pools, pool bars, events like bingo, beach volleyball, big chess and checker sets, I love it all. The price is high though.

As a black level member, I knew Omni Hotel was the place to go. I have stayed in many locations and I have never been disappointed.
Omni Cancun is awesome! From the moment I got off the cab, I was greeted by helpful, courteous and friendly staff. The concierge explained all of the many activities, events, hotel layout and even helped me book a car rental! Perfect for families with children! There are tons of activities for both young and old.
Special thanks to the chef who made scrambled eggs for my little nephew at 6pm! He overheard me telling him that eggs were only available for breakfast and offered to cook them right away!
We got the all inclusive option and never once had to worry about what to eat. There’s a good variety of options. You can choose to start your day with yoga or a run by the beach. Or, just order room service for 5 bucks!
As for the villa, everything was perfect! A 3-​story villa with 2 rooms + master room, kitchen and living room. Each one with a closet, bathroom and balcony. Housekeeping did a fabulous job during our stay.

Like any other traditional American family, this year we decided to spend Christmas in Cancun, I suspect to escape the cold. My family stayed here for a week through the all inclusive package, and we were all pretty impressed with the hotel and the services it provided.
Upon arrival, we had to wait a couple of hours for our rooms to be ready and were upgraded to a villa, an apartment style structure with a kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms with bathrooms. While the beds were kind of hard, overall the villa was very pleasant.
But who has time to stay indoors when there are so many things to do outside? For example, the hotel has two main pools, one equipped with a volleyball net and basketball hoop, the other sporting manmade waterfalls, and plenty of beach chairs and eating options (sushi bar, Mexican) scattered around. And of course, there is the beach. Fine almost floury white sand and beautiful blue water, though with huge waves and rather cold in December. There are rows of chairs and umbrellas for the guests, as well as a beachfront restaurant called Pina Colada. Periodically servers will wander through the beach chairs asking people if they would like to order drinks.
Speaking of food, the options here are nothing to scoff at either. The options range from the aforementioned poolside bars and bistros to a high-​end Italian restaurant for which that you need reservations. When we were there we ate most often at the buffet; lots of options, bit crowded but never too difficult to find a table.
All in all, positive vacation experience. If I had to do it again, I think relaxing at the hotel would have been more preferable than booking more activities through the hotel.

Definitely had a bad first impression when we first got there. We came as two couples, and we booked months in advance for two rooms, each with a king sized bed… We walked into our room, to our dismay, each room came with two full-​sized beds… Even after we called the front desk, they said there weren’t any available, the only ones that were, we’d have to move to another in a couple days for other guests to come.
Besides that, the place was great, the scenery and beach were beautiful, with multiple pools and several eateries. We chose this place because of the variety of food and restaurants they had to offer. Downside is their nice restaurants only allow us to eat once with reservations.
The biggest thing were their friendly staff, who were always there to help, prompt, and oh so friendly! I actually had of noticeable mentions but I can’t seem to find, will update when I find it.
Be sure to stop by and eat the tacos, at the restaurant by the pool. And every other day, they’d give out only a certain amount of alcoholic drinks in fruits like coconuts, pineapples, cantaloupes. It was delicious!

I can’t believe this is an «Omni» hotel. It certainly doesn’t feel like one.
My wife and I stayed here for one night, after having stayed at a different resort for the prior week. All I can say is, man am I glad that we booked Sun Palace instead of Omni. It’s an aging resort which I would guess to be middle of the line or below. If you’re going to take a trip all the way to Cancun, you can do better than Omni. You might think Omni is great. but only if it’s the first all-​inclusive resort you’ve been to.
The hotel is not particularly new. The room, and to some extent the rest of the hotel, was starting to show its age with dings, shabbiness, and décor dating to the 80’s. The design choices, such as the pink marble zigzag flooring, seemed strange and/​or cheesy. The bed was so-​so and the shower drain was slow. When I went to get ice from the ice machine, the machine was located in the unfinished, uncooled stairwell. It seemed grimy and out of place to let guests in there, as if they stuck the ice machine there as an afterthought.
We had a gulfside room (no ocean view) which was actually quite nice. We watched the sun set from our window, and even those facing the other direction get to look more at the pool area than the ocean.
You can’t get wifi in your room… If you want to share your vacation on instagram or facebook, you might be able to do it from the lobby.
Honestly, the food was bad. The only place we ate was the buffet, on Italian Night. I could barely find enough to eat. The Italian food was terrible. The desserts and vegetables were okay. By the grace of god, they had some lentils and curried potatoes which I ate for dinner.
The Omni has a huge area with lots of different pools and food options between the hotel and the beach. Some people might like this, but I found that it was too much concrete. It also means you have to walk really far to get to the beach.
Even the beach was poor. The sand is littered with small shells, debris, and seaweed. What you don’t know is that most good hotels CLEAN the sand to achieve that idyllic tropical paradise feeling. Omni apparently does not. The hotel provides hard plastic chaise lounges which you can move around and there are some stationary umbrellas for shade which are pretty far away from the water. On the beach you’ll run into locals trying to sell you touristy necklaces and doodads, which I found annoying. At our other hotel, the sand was pristine, the chairs were comfortable and included umbrellas, and we were never disturbed.
Drinks here are pretty awesome. Make sure you specify the liquor brand when you order the drink, «Bushwalker with Kahlua Rum», otherwise you’ll get off brand. Their bushwalker was really yummy, margaritas are okay, too.
One of Omni’s strengths seem to be its daily programming. There are tons of different activities going on all day long. I attended the cool Circus show which included gymnasts, silk dancers, acrobats all in costume and they really made an effort to make it fun for the kids, too. The whole resort seems quite kid friendly.
Maybe you’ll have a better experience than me if you have kids and you don’t care about wifi.

Five stars all the way! This was our first ever all-​inclusive style vacation, and we are fans for life! The concept is similar to cruises, but you pay everything upfront so no more nickel and diming to customers. You also avoid threats of crowded quarters, seasickness, and novo virus!
Cancun is simply beautiful with immaculate white sand beaches and unbelievable turquoise blue water of the Caribbean. We took a chance and booked via Costco Travel and the Omni surpassed all our expectations on quality and service. The price wasn’t too shabby — $ 2300 for a 5-​night/​6 day stay for two: including round trip direct flights from SFO, hotel, taxes, food, and yes booze!
FOOD: We have not had a single bad meal during our stay. Omni takes pride in preparing high quality food at all it’s restaurants on site — better than any of the cruises we’ve been on. Service was top notch — always with a smile.
The main buffet La Paloma offers themed dinner every night, and is the main place for breakfast. The food is well prepared and had bold flavors — meats were never over cooked, and even veggies tastes fresh.
Da Vinci is one of their more formal restaurants, and we had some very creative dishes here — shrimp cappuccino (like lobster bisque, but with foam replacing cream), fish cooked in parchment with tomato-​basil over rice, and shrimp pasta with lime sauce. Service was also impeccable and they had an expert accordion player make rounds.
Sushi bar was surprising good as well — rice packed loosely and seasoned, and there were some nice use of traditional Japanese ingredients along with Mexican items like plantains in some of the rolls!
Viva Mexico is their local taco stand and it was so good we came here twice for lunch! Warm corn tortillas served with marinated pork loin, hanger steak (!!), grilled fish, shrimp, or chicken. Probably some of the best tacos we’ve ever had. As a plus, they included home-​made horchata — rice milk with hint of cinnamon.
Deva is their Asian Fusion/​Indonesian restaurant — it was decent for the most part, with seafood fried rice, tamarind short ribs, and fried ice cream. Nowhere near Bay Area quality, but respectable!
BOOZE SERVICE — wonderful! Whether you sit at lounge chairs next to the pool, under a straw hut on the adjacent beach, or in the hotel lobby servers will come by frequently and take drinks — cocktails, beer, bottled waters, you name it. They make every effort to seek you out and do so with a smile!
ROOMS — spacious and clean. Very powerful shower and AC system. Our rooms had a nice balcony and powerful AC system. Occasionally they throw in some towel animals and pepper the bed with rose petals!
WIFI — free throughout the resort. Powerful in the pool area and on the beach right next to the hotel, but spotty inside the room. Decent in public areas.
ENTERTAINMENT — they have a morning agenda similar to cruises, but with less options. At night there’s a free dance show, karaōke night, casino night, or a live band. Most folks enjoy the various pools, jacuzzi, or just hang out on the beach.
Would definitely recommend Omni. We may want to try a few other resorts in Cancun in the future for a comparison — there are many options in Cancun and the competition for tourists is ferocious! I will say that Omni has set the bar pretty high so it will be interesting to check out our next all-​inclusive vacation.

We stayed here with our two young kids on our very first trip to Cancun during off-​peak season. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here again.
Value:
— Very reasonable rates for an all-​inclusive package in September. We booked last minute online and got valuable discounts.
Location:
— A few miles from downtown, but you can catch the city bus, or take a quick cab ride.
— Beautiful beach that is not overly crowded.
— Lovely cabanas that you can rent for the day. Worth the fee — can’t recommend this enough!
Room Quality:
— Spacious rooms, but slightly outdated décor. Comfy beds. Spotty wi-​fi.
Service:
— Hotel restaurants — food wasn’t spectacular, so make sure to venture outside; the best restaurant, Da Vinci, gets booked pretty quickly so make sure to reserve as soon as you arrive.
— Hotel staff — warm, friendly and accommodating. Definitely a plus during our stay.
