We went in on June 10th for the birthday of my brother and sister(twins) it was hands down the best dinner we ate the whole time in Cancun! It was amazing! Everyone ordered steaks and they were all great. I had the stuffed chicken breast and it was the best chicken I have ever eaten in my life. I eat a lot of chicken so it really was amazingly good. They were so great, they brought out beautiful plates for both of the kids that said happy birthday on them. All of the service was great and friendly. I highly recommend splurging and grabbing at least one meal here while on Cancun! Oh yes, my brother said the mashed potatoes are«fire» and he continued to talk about how great they were for the next two days.

We were invited by some friends we made at our hotel to join them in a birthday celebration at Ruth Chris. If you’ve never been, it’s all a la carte. Sides are nearly all big enough to share and include broccoli, loaded baked potato, chips, fries, etc. Just a warning that it can add up quickly. There are also salads though fairly old school like the wedge(who eats iceberg lettuce anymore??). They let you BYO, for the somewhat absurd corkage fee of $ 22. But, the wine was aerated and carafed and served expertly by our well-trained server. If it is truly a special occasion, and you brought a very special bottle of wine with you to Cancun, and you wan to pay to open them, the this is the place to do it. But all that being said, those steaks are unbeatable. Our friends did a quick conversion to find that all price points(including for bottles of wine from their list) were slightly cheaper than U.S. costs. So if you need that extra excuse, there you go :) So now that I’ve sufficiently gushed about the food, I can gripe about the fact that they encourage children here. As in, handing out balloons to them while their parents eat their $ 30 – 60 steaks. I find that about as absurd as their corkage fees. I honestly don’t get it — Ruth Chris is the epitome of a the 80s school of fancy restaurants(white linen, water out of wine glasses, napkin over the arm while pouring your wine, etc), and then they hand out balloons and crayons like it’s TGI Fridays? It just doesn’t jibe. Not to mention, it is apparent by the other reviews that eating at a place like RC is a once every few years kind of treat, which means you save it for a special(usually romantic or intimate) occasion. I guess I find it somewhat irresponsible for the restaurant to undermine that«specialness» by encouraging an atmosphere that can end up with their diners enduring a fussy an vocal one year old throughout their $ 200+ meal, like we had to.

Who would have thought that a Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Cancun, Mexico could be so excellent? Yet it was! After 10 hours door to door traveling from the SF Bay Area, my husband and I arrived in Cancun, Mexico to celebrate my birthday. After finding our condo and unpacking it was already dark… and it was my special day but we had no idea where to do to celebrate. Across the street from our villa with Ruth Chris so we decided to take a chance. And, WOW it was terrific. Service was exceptional, margarita was strong, our entrees were prepared as desired, and I was treated to two special desserts complimentary-a rich dark chocolate mousse and a crème brulee. My husband enjoyed a rib eye while I had the prawns. We also had a chopped salad and a wild greens salad. Chopped salad is a star. Although we love mingling with the locals when we travel, Ruth Chris was very comforting for a special occasion in a foreign land upon the first few hours of arrival. They even took a photo as a memento and I am grateful. Thank you RC.

As good as it gets! We were sick of the cheap tasteless food we had all week while in Cancun, so we decided to splurge for our 30th anniversary celebration Awesome meal, One of the best steaks that you will ever have. My wife and I both had the filet, and split the augratin potatoes. I could almost cut my filet with a fork. Awesome service. Can’t be beat. Total bill with tip $ 140

Just got back from vacation in Cancun. Based on advice from a friend who loves this restaurant we booked a reservation for X-Mas Eve dinner. Showed up on time for our 7:30 reservation and seated right away. We don’t drink but got sparkling water and Calamari appetizer almost right away. So far so good and the place is busy and loud and happy. ONEHOURLATER we get the baby filet’s with the Oscar(crabcake/asparagus/hollandaise). My wife’s was undercooked but we could not get the waiter back to get it cooked from blood dripping red to medium. My steak was not the medium I asked for but I was so hungry I ate it anyway. They took my wife’s steak off the bill. Waiter apologized and wished us Merry Christmas. The problem-I had plenty of time to observe in that hour wait– they definitely cater to Mexicans first, then to all others. My advice-remember this is not the USA Ruth Chris and if they are busy don’t be anything but Mexican.

Great steak, service and atmosphere. The best meal we had in Cancun. A bit pricey but definitely worth it for that one night you want to splurge and leave the all inclusive selection.

The best meal we had our entire trip to Cancun. My filet was perfectly cooked and came out on a plate sizzling. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious! The hostess even gave me a rack to put my purse on; this is a big thing in Mexico, apparently. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Our only complaint would be that one of the waiters that we asked for tarter sauce from did not understand what we were trying to say. However, he brought back 2 different kinds of sauces; neither, of course were tarter sauce, but were delicious and suffice non the less.

A regular customer of this chain in a variety of locations. The service and food just wasn’t as good as the locations in the United States. My steak was under cooked… had to send it back. It was a nice location and clean. As I said, just not the service and attention to detail as the locations in the USA.

If you want the taste of home while in Cancun, I would highly suggest this restaurant! My family and I visited this restaurant on Thanksgiving because we were so sick of the lack luster food at our resort. The food is pricey but it is certainly worth it. The steaks are served on a plate that is 500 degrees. They are only salted, peppered, and topped with butter. Very minimal but delectable nonetheless. My sister ordered the chicken stuffed with garlic herb cheese and I think it was honestly better than my petite fillet. It was bursting with flavor and it was beautifully presented. With our dinner we ordered a 16 ounce baked potato that was dressed with butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese, and chives. The potato was more than enough for the three of us to share along with the order of potatoes au gratin. I think my favorite menu item was the potatoes au gratin. They were rich and creamy. The cheese sauce was just so amazing. It complimented the meal perfectly. If I ever visit a Ruth’s Chris Steak House again, I will certainly remember to order my steak a little less cooked because it will continue to cook at the table on the 500 degree plate. I ordered my fillet medium well because I did not want too much pink… big mistake. Overall, if you are looking for an escape that it pretty pricey but delicious, I would take a cab here! Ask your concierge to call and make the reservation for you.

I’m guessing you’re looking up steakhouses in Cancun right now because you’ve had one too many meals that’s served with guacamole and frijoles refrito and want some closer-to-home comfort feed. Ruth Chris Cancun will take care of that! It is a fancy/romantic steak house(yeah you read it right, romance and steak!) Now it does have a fancy restaurant price tag and is a bit hefty compared to most mexican restaurants. But it is prob not all that much more expensive compared to restaurants at home plus the ambience and quality of the food makes up for it anyway. Failing that, Outback Steakhouse, which is NOT Australian btw, is a 5 mins drive away if you’re after a more affordable/kids friendly option. We got the 1kg porterhouse to share which ended up being a t-bone, we didn’t mind because it’s a nicer cut anyway and it was absolutely delicious!
