Friends who had previously been on the Carnival cruise expressed how important it was too stop here, since I was celebrating my Bachelorette this weekend and they knew Mariscos were one of my priorities before going to Papa’s n Beer and after our horseback ride. I always get tostadas mixtas(in this case tostada especial), which means pretty much a variety of different seafood’s in you tostada, however this one was beyond special and mouth watering. They even included oysters! They were extremely fast and inexpensive. Some of my brides had a campechana and aguachiles and of course those were nothing short of amazing, with rich seafood and vegetable flavors and refreshing tones. I hope to visit you soon tostada especial :) Side note. we hired Las Dunas Tours to take us riding and they offered to drive us straight to El Guero, amazing amazing tour guides there!

Being new gringos here we had to see how to order. On the side by the sidewalk was the seafood tostada, asked for 2. Then went to the side and ordered large cup of mixed seafood. Got both items and went to other side farthest from sidewalk to pay. Put hot sauce on, got napkins and crackers. 2 tostadas and 1 large seafood cup for $ 10. Very fresh and delicious.

This mariscos cart was recommended by our horseback ride tour guide. A definite winner as we were there for about thirty minutes and saw at least three different deliveries of fresh seafood from the market. The location is convenient and the employees were very helpful. We were fortunate enough to find a young gentleman who spoke fluent English and was able to direct our orders in the appropriate direction. My wife and I will never turn down an opportunity to eat some raw oysters and a dozen is exactly what we started with. They were shucked with squeeze of lime juice being the only addition. I remember our horseback tour guide saying that the waters in the All Saints Bay were very salty and that whales migrated to the bay to birth because of the salinity. The oyster liquor was by far and away the most briny that I’ve ever tasted. Almost face cringing, a beer would have been nice to temper the saltiness. We followed the oysters with a fairly large portion of the fish and shrimp ceviche tostada. It was loaded with marinated seafood. I think we finished this in less than five minutes. Finally, we finished with the mixed seafood tostada. This dish again was loaded with seafood, dominated with clams and shrimps. What amazed me was the speed at which the young man preparing our food diced a cucumber without a cutting board. The process is the same as other carts where you order, eat, and pay later. The peso conversion will be done for you and they will accept your American cash. Our food came out to a veritable bargain of under $ 20. I would recommend everything that we ordered and I’m certain that the other seafood is just as fresh and just as delicious. The scallop was the one dish that we wanted to try but were not able. I can’t speak for other carts, but I don’t see why I would stop at any other mariscos cart if I’m in Ensenada again.

After taking a microbrewery tour in wine country, we asked our tour guide to point us in the direction of another local famous mariscos cart. Besides telling us where how to get there, he mentioned we would be pleased to try this place as well. He was right. After trying some more exotic seafood one block over, the traditional fish/shrimp ceviche tostadas here were amazing. Better than any I have tried in America. Hands down. I wish this cart were local to me, it would be a weekly treat. For sure.

Pretty sure this is my favorite marisco place. At the very least it is top 2. Ceviche is absolutely amazing and so are the cocteles de almeja. This is top of the line food here. None of that clamato nothing. The seafood is really fresh. It could only be fresher if they were preparing it on the boat. The price is super reasonable. I purchased two cocteles medianos and I lost count of the tostadas de ceviche but it was less than $ 20. Thats unheard of for this caliber of marisco. Do your tastebuds a favor and eat here. Oh yeah and don’t be discouraged by the large crowd. This place is always packed for a reason but they have a really good system for getting food out quick. There is a coctel guy, a tostada guy, two guys shucking clams, one sometimes two guys that offer customer service(offering drinks, directing customers in the proper direction, asking if you need anything else) and one guy that charges you. So hit up the appropriate guy for the type of dish you want.

The line was long. Good sign. The stand smelled of the ocean and the ceviche masters worked in tandem like and orchestra to create the absolute best ceviche I’ve ever had in my life. Why haven’t more people reviewed this amazing stand? I spent around $ 3 American to eat a giant portion of mixed, fresh seafood atop a crisp tostada, with fresh lime and avocado, and two bloody clams(that’s really their name, but in Spanish it’s Patas de Mula) on the half shell. Pretty good deal. I’m going back today. And tomorrow. In fact, this may be a incentive for me to return to Ensenada.
