From the outside, he might not expect much from this humble second-story establishment Tucktaway in the corner of the plaza. Once inside, the casual, minimalist décor gives way to about any overlooking this lovely Pueblo. It is definitely as relaxed as its environment, is your menu and drinks don’t arrive for 10 or maybe 15 minutes. However, in keeping with the charm of this town, everything is served with a smile — and most importantly, the food is absolutely and stunningly delicious. The chips, thick and fresh out of the fryer, are paired with a wonderful salsa that is spicy enough to make your tongue tingle but flavorful enough to make your taste buds dance. Order the mariscos molcajete — it is positively one of the most divine dishes on the planet, served in a bubbling chili-based liquid and topped with cheese — gasp! — that adds an extra layer of complexity and deliciousness. The tortoise are awesome, especially the lawn mowed, and the drinks, as well as the food are extremely inexpensive. A really fun way to spend an afternoon and a great cornerstone for this beautiful little town.
