The Palm

DL: The Palm brings premium steakhouse service and food to Mexico. The surf and turf with lobster (yes, it’s a misnomer any other way, but many places here do shrimp instead of lobster) ROCKS. This is one of the best lobster places in DF. The servers are also very good and friendly.
The Palm is a chain. In some cities, it’s very good, but nothing special. In Mexico, however, being a chain and being rather consistent helps it stand out. It’s the small things at this place that really impart that — live lobsters (you can meet your meal and know it’s not frozen) and excellent service (though the bar sometimes has bad service when they are setting up for events).
The steaks are very good to great. I recommend the ribeye, medium rare. Another part of the menu that is nice is that they do have some Mexican dishes on it, like the tortilla soup (the rest escape me, but they do them well). The core of the menu is authentic Palm fare, but they do have some local dishes which is nice, as they execute them very well.
The managers really do care about giving you a great experience. They are awesome.

The Palm es un restaurante clásico americano en la ciudad de México. Es elegante, acartonado, con luces amarillas y señores de buen vestir; como estar en un clásico restaurante de Nueva York. La comida, es 100% americana: cortes de carne, mariscos, crab cakes, brisque de langosta y por supuesto… una hamburguesa que está rankeada como una de las mejores del país. He de advertir que este lugar es carísimo, y personalmente la comida gringa no es mi favorita, por lo que yo me lo ahorraría. Sin embargo, si te el dinero no es un impedimento, gustan los buenos cortes de carne y quieres disfrutar de un maravilloso clam chowder, The Palm es una gran opción para ti.

El Palm es otro de lo clásicos de la ciudad. Mariscos y cortes de carne conforman el menú de aquellos que buscan lo mejor. El ambiente es señorial y constantemente te topas con personalidades. Te advierto que la cuenta promedio por persona está alrededor de $ 700 pesos. La carne más barata es un filete mignon de $ 345 pesos.
Los crab cakes, el bisque de langosta, y el New York Strip prime rib están exquisitos. La hamburguesa prime también está deliciosa. Como postre te recomiendo muchísimo el New York Cheesecake.
Algunas de las personas con las que iba comentaron que la comida no justificó el precio y que había mejores lugares, otros salieron fascinados.
