This night club has waaaaay too many people. Definitely too small and not enough space. Be prepared to stand the entire night and have confetti thrown at you a million times. The shows are the reason this place gets a star. They were entertaining. Honestly not better than Vegas!!! Vegas spots have space to have outrageous parties.

Terrible, be ready to be packed in a bar like a sardine. And you get stepped on, shoved and people spill drinks on you. It’s a scam and a safety hazard to have that many people in one place. They sell as many bracelets as they can and do not care about reaching max capacity.

Here’s the thing. When you get in, you get mad free drinks. Almost worth your money’s worth. It’s also a fun wait in line since they do the show outside. If you’re there early, the first 30 minutes are great. BUT Before the show even starts they pack you in like cattle. If 1000 people is the capacity, they pack 3000. Where’s the Playa del Carmen Fire Marshall?! I don’t think it’s safe. You can’t talk to anyone and people just yell at you to move out of there way… But you can’t move. #ihaveanxietythinkingaboutit

Fun, unique, entertaining. Also loud, sticky, and crowded. Depends on where you end up sitting. We got tickets from the resort we were saying at — I imagine they have reps spread out at all over the area wooing tourists into an evening out. We took the bait. Whichever way you end up getting tickets, aim for VIP open bar. We skipped the line to get in(saved us 30 minutes, at least), got a table, and had open bar throughout the night. The view was awesome; everything happens at some level of elevation, so we didn’t have to crane our necks up the whole night to see everything. When there was a pause, we sat, and when there was fun, there was room to dance. Should you not have those tickets… prepare for a line outside, a line inside, and a very crowded and hot floor level. Also, the floor level bar gets turned into a mini-stage at a few different points in the show,(TRON!) and having seats on an upper level gave us an absolutely fantastic view. If you were on the floor… probably less so. However, no matter where you sit or stand… it’s absolutely packed. I’m not sure if there is a «fire code» here, but once you are in… you are in. Good luck trying to get out before the show is over, even if your only goal is to fin the bathroom. The show itself was great — the acts are a lot of fun, and each one is pretty different. Tron was, hands down, my absolute favorite, but there were a lot of others done quite well. There are plenty of random siren/smoke/confetti moments(usually when the beat drops) in between, serving as a lovely reminder that it was probably time to dance a little harder and drink a little more. It’s worth going once, but I don’t think the show changes much so it might get a little repetitive. Don’t forget to get the $ 20 picture and take a few $ 5 test tube shots, because… that’s just how Coco Bongo rolls.

This venue was presented to our group through a Corporate event planner — Holy Guacamole! What a dump! I probably don’t fit their target demographic, but even in my twenties its seediness, the big boobed scantily dressed ‘staff’ gyrating on the stage before ‘the show’ looking like drugged out zombies, the crowded drunken free-for-all, and eardrum piercing din would have sent me running. It was so over crowded if somebody had yelled fire, most would be trampled to death trying to get the hell out. The place made my skin crawl and we were out of there before the real acts started.

Money hungry club with no concern for safety. Packed way beyond capacity, there is no way a fire marshal would allow that many people at one time in a club. If you’re on the third or second floor and a fire broke out, consider your self severely injured or dead. The open bar is a joke because its so crowded you cant even get to the bar, let alone get a drink, and the few drinks you manage to get are the weakest possibly made. The show is great if you don’t mind being bumped, pushed and cattle driven by the sweepers or drunk crowds the entire time. Bathrooms are disgusting and run down, a complete representation of the scam they run. Very disorganized with a trashy wanna be Vegas vibe. There are plenty upscale clubs for less. Don’t waste your time or money here, they wont give you a refund. They weasel themselves out of it.

This place is a must. No idea who would rate this under a 5 out of 5. One of my favorite experiences ever. They don’t advertise as well as they should. It’s like Broadway meets a night club meets a rad time. Obviously, the acting is nowhere near Broadway but the show is extremely fun. Europeans! Americans! Canadians! Read this part!!! Spend the extra money and get a table. It’s $ 40 per person more. Do it. You also need to get a table on the main floor, best access to the party. This venue is for all ages, 18 – 99!!!

I did not know what to expect. I visited Cancun a couple of years ago and didn’t get a chance to go. So on this trip I made it a point to check out Coco Bongo. The package included roundtrip transportation, admission and open bar. Price was $ 75. We had a ball. It reminds you of Vegas because of the theatrics and live shows. The performers really get into character and really shows you a good time. They make it interactive too with the crowd which is fun. My favorites were the LMFAO and Bruno Mars performances. The waitresses walk by every 5 minutes giving shots and refilling your drinks. Awesome time.

The show itself was great & entertaining place is small but ut is a good time. I just think they rip u off w/the prices. Its a open bar yet they come around every 10min tryna sell u shots for $ 5 usd or get ur picture taken for $ 20usd. If i didnt have to pay $ 140 usd for a seat maybeI woulda got a pic as a trinket to take home. But the experience is very fun thats 4star maybe 5 I only rated lower bc so small &they let too many ppl in ur cramed. To get to bathroom forget it that 10min tryna squeeze thru crowd Pictures are Very deceiving! Place is TINY inside. The $ 70ish price for ticket isnt bad bc u do have fun, get a good show, open bar. but the space this place is is ridiculous. Its small as all hell inside if ur on the floor good luck. Ur literally shoulder/shoulder don’t wear anything new or too nice bc u will get drinks spilled on u & or feet stepped on. Ladies DON’T wear heels bc ur standing entire time. Now if u wana table/chair ur squeezed in a small ass space but at least u can sit. But u have to buy a bottle which is ridiculous bc its open bar good thing is u CAN take bottle home w/u when u leave. The cheapest is $ 140 usd. So u paid $ 70 for ticket to get in then u have to pay additional for bottle great if ur in a group

Dont go! Wish I would’ve looked on Unilocal before my boyfriend and I wasted $ 140. It’s very disorganized. They hype it up to be this great show and it’s not it’s horrible. I didn’t come all the way to Mexico for them to lip sync American songs. you’re better off spending your time energy and money somewhere else. This night is probably the only bad thing I experienced during my vacation. So seriously… DONTGO!

This place was a waste of money! We were constantly being placed and displaced by the staff, as soon as we had arrived. Fifteen minutes into the show we were kicked out of our seats again, so we decided to leave and ask for a refund. At this point a manager came to tell us that he would move us to a new location and we would be fine. After ten minutes of insisting on a refund we were handed off to another manager who gave us the same argument. We were carted around to 4 separate«managers» who each refused to give us a refund. The service was poor. The«managers» assumed no responsibility for their staff. And the entire evening was a waste of time and money that could be better spent elsewhere!

Going to this show was the biggest waste of time and money. The staff inside the venue who seated my boyfriend and I were extremely rude and unorganized. We were directed somewhere by one staff member, just to be kicked out of those seats by another staff member so they could place another party there. After this happened 3 times in the same night, we spoke to management to ask for a refund and were refused. They tried to offer us different seats with the promise that we wouldn’t be moved again, but we were way past the point of wanting to stay and giving the show a 4th chance. We were told they had a no refund policy, and we could either take the other seats they were offering or leave. We left.

Entertainment all night long! Different musical, dance, and acrobatic acts go on the entire night and open bar with any ticket. We were going to get VIP($ 160, pretty pricey) but by the time we decided to, it was sold out. We got general tickets which were $ 70 at the door(Online presale tickets wait in line so just buy them at the door to be walked right in). We’re so glad we didn’t get VIP because we still had such a great time! As long as you’re ok with being in a VERY crowded room with a bunch of party people, you’ll love it. For a little more space and a view from the upper level, get VIP. Only annoying thing was the workers telling you to move every 5 minutes to sweep all the confetti out of the way.

It’s like going to a live theatre in a dance club. Very entertaining; the girls are wild(and likely not wearing any underwear); and I don’t recall not being without a drink. Super packed in there… too packed that it felt more like a mosh pit. Good times tho and if you’re rolling all-inclusive with a nearby resort, you’re golden!

To sum it up: entertainment shows are great, the music is awesome(mix of American and Latin current and old hits), the prices suck, the drinks are terrible(don’t get the open bar package), the crowd is filled with tourists, and their security is mostly there to help with entertainment rather than for actual security purposes. So, I came with a group of six. We paid $ 50 for the entry and all-you-can drink bracelet. It was so not worth it. I literally only had a drink and a half before I decided to quit for my own good. I was sober AND I still ended up getting sick from the drinks that night. They were the worst tasting liquids I’ve ever tried – and that’s a big deal considering undergrad college drinks weren’t too glamorous. The show, however, was amazing and kept me thoroughly entertained. They had hilarious segments and others that were way cool. Even the guys that were with us really enjoyed it. There was singing, dancing, acrobatics, and fight scenes. And the characters were all super popular ranging from Michael Jackson, to Beyonce, to Spiderman, to random audience members. The security guards were way cool, and if they liked you then they helped you up on an elevated area where you could dance and have the best view of the stage. They didn’t allow guys up there, which meant that even though a million eyes were on you, no creepers were able to get to you – unlike the actual dance floor. It’s always nice to feel somewhat protected. Still, there was a super ratchet chick there that tried to start a fight with my friend several times, but she never got kicked out, despite security guards knowing. WTF? So, we opted to just stick to those elevated areas and eventually the b gave up. So, I’d most definitely go back. And although I’d pay $ 50 to see the show(you pay more for Broadway in NYC), I wouldn’t pay it for the drinks.

Coco Bongo, all I can say is that I had one of the most insane, crazy, totally bonkers night ever! And to think I though this was going to be another average, tequila drenched club that is so-so, just another version of a Fat Tuesdays/Senior Frogs etc. Nope, this place is off the freaking hook! If you are considering going, do it! But make sure to pay for your own private area(table preferably). On a busy Saturday this place is jam packed! Four stories high of adrenalin pumping, party like theres no tomorrow, and get into the show and get wrecked people from across the globe! The shows were great, totally entertaining. And they keep coming… you expect it to be over, then another one starts. I especially loved the Batman showdown against Bane with Catwoman. Also well done on Phantom of the Opera and Chicago. Britney and Guns N’ Roses were hilarious, and on and on. Oh, and the whole thing kicked off with a «little person» dressed as the Mask. When the show isn’t on confetti is shooting, balloons are falling, they even had a machine that blew snow! Sure, the free drinks sucked, but what do you expect — shell out a few bucks for the good stuff. I would definitely go back! Life’s a party, might as well join in!

We went here for a fun night on the town. After reading reviews on trip advisor I decided the only way to go was VIP. Once we got there I was really glad I paid the extra amount because there really wasn’t much room in the lower area I could also see that it was hard for people to get drinks there because of the crowding. We had a bartender for us and about 15 other people so it was great and the drinks were flowing all night long, VIP drinks were also in larger glasses with better quality booze. The show was really fun, my husband loved it and we danced throughout the night. I think CocoBongo is awesome but only if you are willing to splurge on VIP, seeing the show from the bottom just seems like a waste to me.

6⁄10 stars. Good show, but… Too crowded! If you want to dance this is not the club to go to. Claustrophobic? Then stay home, this place is sphincter tight, no way to escape a fire or zombie attack… even with Darryl as your date. Lines are ridiculously long, get there before 10pm and pay the extra $ 10 pp to get through the express line. If you paid for VIP I’d say you would not run into this problem, but at $ 125 per person you shouldnt. Tip your bartender $ 10 off the cuff; they will keep the drinks flowing to you all night. Be back to your van early! Your taxi driver will leave without you, and at 4am, you’re ready to get back to your hotel and will not want to wait for the stragglers either.

So I’m at the party pool at the resort and they’re pumping this place up as, «puts Vegas clubs to shame… CNN» I don’t know what clubs in Vegas CNN and these peeps have been to, but even Circus Circus, with 2 year olds roaming the gaming floor at 4 am, is 100 times better than this shithole! We were shuffled in and immediately my only thought was, «how the hell will anyone survive a fire or any other emergency evacuation in this joint?» Any package you buy, except for the VIP, limits you to the minimal perimeter of the stage, which is set in the middle of a makeshift arena. There is nowhere to dance. There is nowhere to sit. Shit, you’ll be lucky if you can make your way to the restroom. The alcohol situation is a scam. You’re told there are only 3 exclusions: red bull, Champagne, and Jaegermeister. Surprise! Everything is excluded form the all inclusive except for beer and low grade tequila and cheap rum. Save your time and money for Xplor park or Blue Parrot Beach Club. Hell, take that money and go to Chichen Itza.
