Unique food, beautiful crockery, great music and impeccable service. The menu today offered two soups, two mains and several simple desserts. Mezcal shots on the house. Smoky and crunchy blue tortillas and guacamole. I ordered the two pre-Hispanic options– nopales(prickly pear) soup, and chicken with red salsa and cochineals(insects from nopales). Finished with a good strong coffee and complimentary chocolate squares, a house speciality.

If you are in Teotitian hunting for a rug, there is a fabulous restaurant you must try. Run by three sisters dressed in Zapotec garb, it is a real find. Try the chicken in a black mole sauce, best mole I have ever eaten. Open air kitchen where everything is hand made. Hand written menu. They even got us a taxi to take us back to Oaxaca. Truly a memorable experience.
