This is the neighborhood park for Colonia Buena Vista, the neighborhood of Buena Vista. I had the opportunity to spend some time in this area via the wonders of AirBnb. As luck would have it there is a small yet strange expat community here. The neighborhood is an pretty decent, blue collar kind of place. There’s no bars in this barrio so if that’s your scene go someplace else. Lord knows there’s no shortage of places overrun with bars in TJ. As for the park it’s pretty mundane. There’s a play area for children,-swingsets, slides and teeter totters, and a place that sells snacks and sodas in the park itself. It’s bordered by a catholic church, a private elementary school, an ice cream shop(Paleteria Los Reyes Michoacan), and a row of small shops and restaurants. There is a small wooded walking path. This park is not big enough to get lost in, but is a decent little park. It’s on the main bus route-the blue bus what says«Buena Vista» on it. Combis and taxis are also pretty easy to get from the park. Pretty safe for everyone in daylight hours, but as a tourist there may not be an outstanding reason to come here, unless you want to see how people live outside the tourist areas.
