Grand Bahía Príncipe Tulum

Upon check-​in, I asked if any restaurants were open. Our host said only the buffet, which turned out to be a blatant lie.
The drinks were so watered down, my husband and I had 3 drinks in a row and did not even get buzzed. Perhaps if you enjoy shots of tequila you could get tipsy; I did try one, but it had little effect on me.
The room was clean, but there were only 3 outlets total. Not three sets of outlets, 3 outlets. Thank goodness we always travel with a small extension cord and power strip.
I was quite irritated that wifi was extra, especially when it claims to be all-​inclusive resort. You get one hour free in the lobby, which turns the lobby into this place where families go to stare at their screens.
The buffet was OK, a lot of repeating dishes. Drink service was practically non-​existent. Although other people may enjoy the novelty of birds, raccoons and cats walking through the dining area, we did not.
The time share sellers were like carnival barkers, always bugging you every time you have to walk to the buffet. They continued to yell at us as we walked away numerous times.
But it doesn’t stop there. While on the beach, one man came around with a tour binder asking us if we wanted to swim with dolphins. Ten minutes later, it was a different man with a different binder, this time for henna tattoos. I was on the beach, trying to relax, and absolutely did not appreciate someone trying to sell me something.
We are well-​seasoned travelers who appreciate being treated like a valued guest. During our travels, we have had exceptional service in some places, horrible service in others. When I told my husband I would not come back to this place if it were free, that pretty much summed it up.
I am glad so many other people had better experiences. Unfortunately, that was not the case with us.

Food is very bland. Meat is barely edible. Clean facility other than your bathrooms. Wifi limited to only one hour. Workers do not enjoy working there. Restaurants have limited availability. Front desk unaccommodating. Only descent meal is breakfast. Found a mouse in our room. Many fearless raccoons on facility. Also they did construction on the room above us at 6 am everyday including New Year’s Day. Very disappointing. Please stay elsewhere.

Pro’s:
The hotel exterior is well maintained. The hotel is huge, but they have golf cart shuttles that take you around. The hacienda is fun, they have a sports bar with games, a club and a casino. The beach and pools were pretty, and it was cool seeing the iguanas and birds. The hotel staff also spoke english very well. The air conditioning in the room worked really well, and the beds were comfortable.
Cons’s: The rooms weren’t that nice, our bath tub was leaking most the trip and the water would periodically become scolding hot. There was rust on anything that was metal. The food was awful, all buffet style. A lot of the time the food was cold, stale, or tasted odd. It was extremely difficult to even get food, it was far and was only open from 7am-10:30am, 12:30pm-3pm and 6ish pm-​10pm. The entire hotel basically shut down at 11:30pm (they even turn off all the hallway lights at 10:30pm). The snack bar was open 24 hours, but it was super far from us and there were raccoons EVERYWHERE. They tried to tell me that the taquitos they gave me were tacos. My last day I got to the buffet ten minutes before it closed, and all the servers were eating and drinking alcohol, completely ignoring the guests. One family tried to sit at a clean table but was told to sit at a dirty table, and then were completely ignored and ended up leaving. The maids came around 4pm, and if your «do not disturb» sign was up, they would call you asking if you want your room cleaned. I was changing and a maintenance guy knocked on my door and then proceeded to try to come into my room even though I had said don’t come in. (there are no top bar latch locks on the doors)
This is the worst hotel I have ever staid at. I was so disappointed, especially considering how expensive it was. Don’t waste your time or money coming here.

«Time flies when you’re having fun»… was not the case here.
Stayed: christmas 2015 with my family
Pros: the scuba diving was great through the hotel, they take care of you and your belongings and ensure that you have a good time.
They had friendly staff.
Beaches and pools were nice! Cool wildlife to see in the hotel.
Our room had good AC contrary to other reviews.
Seaweed was under control for the most part and it was not smelly
CONS!:
The food you ask? Not good. make the reservations early for the dinners.
Bars close at 11:30. there is one open but it was at a snack bar that was a ways away from us. not even worth going since there are racoons everywhere (which is ok if you feel like today would be good for catching a disease).
This place is HUGE! If you want to go get something to eat it’s not as easy as it sounds. It was too big in my opinion.

I was so impressed with the service and cleanliness of this resort. It was absolutely amazing. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The room was beautiful and we had a view of the ocean from our balcony. Apple Vacations did an amazing job helping us plan. If you want a taste of pure paradise you need to visit this immaculate resort! If I could give this 10 stars I would.

It was like having an all you can eat pass to luby’s with the customer service of Walmart. We stayed 6 days and found out you only get to eat in the restaurants 2 twice, and you had to book it well in advance of your trip or you would not get a reservation at all or at some unreasonable hour. The all you could eat buffets were boring and served the same food for lunch and dinner, looks like they change the décor and call it Italian night but the food selection stays the same. The room was nice but smelled moldy, and you had to pay extra for the lock for the Safety box. The staff was not very helpful, hence the Walmart service reference. Beach was mostly corals by the hacienda section and the good part of the beach was off limits. I would not recommend this place. I have stayed with Dreams Tulum, and it was great, no reservation issues, good food and service, and nicer beach, nothing like Bahia principe Tulum which lacks in all areas.

Es el primer hotel de los cuatro de Bahia Principe, su lobby es espectacular, de verdad, digno de verse y estar ahí. La hacienda Doña Isabel es un mall para compras, los huéspedes no tendrán que salir para nada y estarán como en casa.
La playa es la de Tulúm, los que la conocen saben que es hermosa y tranquila, los que no trataré de describirla brevemente: apacible con fina arena y sol radiante que te lleva directo a un estado de felicidad plena.
El hotel tiene un delfinario y los shows que presentan en la noche son espectaculares, yo les recomiendo el show de Michael Jackson, impresionate y divertido.
Los restaurantes de especialidades son de pecar y pecar gustosamente, en síntesis, unas vacaciones ideal es en este complejo de Bahía Principe.

Esta vez les hablaré sobre uno de los mejores hoteles que existen en toda la Riviera Maya, el Bahía Príncipe.
Este hotel de cinco estrellas es realmente gigantesco y ni siquiera estoy contando la parte de Residencial y Campo de golf. Cuenta con más de tres grandísimas albercas, un súper gimnasio, área deportiva con canchas de tenis y un sin fin de comodidades y amenidades, incluso hay un área para niños. Desde que entras sientes que llegaste a una ciudad completamente distinta.
El personal todo el tiempo es muy amable y atento, siempre pendientes de tus necesidades y con una excelente actitud de servicio que supera todas tus espectativas. Realmente son grandiosos. En este hotel no tienes nada de qué preocuparte, pues todas tus necesidades estarán siempre cubiertas, y siempre intentarán hacer que te sientas la persona más importante del complejo.
La comida es excelente, hay una amplísima variedad en el Buffet de comida internacional y todo es de alta calidad. No podrías esperar menos de un hotel como este.
En cuanto a los precios, pues es demasiado variado, hay de todo, mi recomendación es contratar paquetes completos con hotel y vuelos incluidos. Son los que valen más la pena y con ese tipo de paquetes puedes encontrar mucho mejores precios y ofertas.
Si tienen la oportunidad y están planeando vacaciones en la Riviera Maya, piensen que este es uno de los hoteles preferidos al rededor de mundo, y no los decepcionará. Súper recomendable para familias o para parejas recién casadas.

Este hotel es el más grande en el que me he hospedado. Literalmente parece una ciudad. La comida es deliciosa y el servicio está en top a nivel mundial. En ningún lugar del mundo verás un paisaje similar. Es ideal para que viaje toda la familia. En vez de hacer una cena o una gran fiesta en Navidad, mejor venganse a Bahía príncipe y de verdad se sentirán como de la realeza

Pros: The moment you step outside your hotel room, you’re reminded why you’re there. The grounds are immaculate, as well as the pools and beach area.
Cons: Upon arrival, that the rooms be ready and that someone take the opportunity to truly explain all that is offered and where it is.
Location: We did a day excursion to a sink hole and then on to Chitchenitza to see the Mayan ruins. The trip is ALL day, so prepare to bring snacks and drinks.
The room wasn’t ready at promised check-​in time, and the first night there, the drain in the shower didn’t work. The maintenance showed up in a reasonable time to fix. The rooms do have air conditioning, but it is not conditioning we are accustomed to in the U.S. Rather it is a very humid, wet blowing air… which leaves everything damp. Do not bring anything of importance that is on paper or any electronics susceptible to moisture. The room was not extremely clean, and I don’t think it was the fault of maids, as they were very kind and willing to help in any way. It is more the nature of the hotel and moisture and being on the beach. There was a massive beetle that we saw at one point, but that was the only bug we encountered inside. The last night there, we had no hot water. We called the front desk who said they were sending maintenance, but after an hour and no show, we called again. On the second call, they send someone within approximately one hour. The hotel asks you reuse towels but the towels never fully dried so we had the maids come in each day for the towel service, of which they made our beds and freshened the place. And again, you run into them often, and they were all the most kind people of all of the staff! Once you step outside your hotel room, it is insanely beautiful. The downside being that the pools and bars close at 6… and you risk your life with the trucks and golf carts whizzing by on the same walk that you take on foot. They do not move for anyone.
