Do yourself a favor and visit this little local spot. For good beers, great company (the locals) and a bar that’s been here since 1624. Yes. 1624. Enjoy!!!

Dans le quartier du Jordaan se cache une pépite, le café Chris !
Ce café brun typique n’était autre qu’un des lieux préférés de Rembrandt — vous comprendrez alors l’histoire qui s’en dégage. Ici, nous n’avons rencontré aucun touriste égaré, né sont présents que des habitués du quartier.
L’atmosphère était digne d’un film, où nous étions les spectateurs émerveillés; des trois petites mamies qui buvaient leur thé aux vieux copains qui s’affrontaient au billard.
Nous n’avions pris qu’un café et un chocolat ici, mais le lieu nous a vraiment marqués !

My buddy and I stumbled upon Café Chris while wandering through the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam. It’s a friendly local bar that’s small and comfortable with good prices on the beers. The bartender and patrons were both very friendly, and they taught us proper ways to order beers in Dutch. You won’t find tourists here or young rowdy folks. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy time away from the bustle of the city center.
