Nice location near the Dam in Amsterdam. This location is so busy it takes the charm out of shopping there. There are security guards at the front entrance — which I can understand since the area is so busy and touristy.

Combined with a visit to the Albert Heijn food store above makes a great stop off for anyone budgeting during their visit to Amsterdam. Pick up snacks for the train here or for al fresco lunches upstairs and drinks from the Gall and Gall banch in the basement. Worth checking their offers online — while we were visiting for the weekend Absolut vodka was on offer at 11.99 euro for 70cl. We may have bought a bottle or two… Good range and friendly staff — cheaper than a lot of the independents dotted around so definitely worth stopping off at.

If you are a budget traveler like me and in need of inexpensive, but good libations. Head over to Gall & Gall, the leading liquor and wine retailer in Netherlands. I don’t really like to drink much since I’m a light weight, but my friends do. We went over here to purchase some prosecco and sweet wine, so we can enjoy them before hitting the clubs. Most of the bottles here cost under 5 Euro which cost as much as a small glass of wine at a bar, so you are really saving money. This location is also conveniently located under Albert Heijn Market which is a a perfect stop to grab cheeses, grapes and crackers to compliment your delicious wine.
