IJscuypje & Stamppotje

They usually only have one person working and the line doesn’t go so quickly… but overall it’s good. Friday night they were open past 11pm, I was shocked! I usually get stratiatella or melon.

I love this place! It’s a IJscuypje & Stamppotje chain, which is located all over Amsterdam. It’s one of the best ice cream spots in town. IJscuypje & Stamppotje is where ice-​cream loving people come from the neighborhood together and eat ice cream in Fall, Spring and Summer. They provide several desirable flavors that leads you coming back for more… I can never pass this place without resisting a scoop of ice cream. I always enjoy the Mango, Raspberry and Chocolate. You’d be crazy to ignore the ice cream temptation here, it’s so yummy!
During winter they switch to become Stamppotje, and sell another traditional Dutch dish called stamppot, which is a mashed potato stew served with vegetables and sausages. I notice they recently added to the menu an awesome veggie burger. What I loved about the veggie burger is that it had no soy ingredients. Plus it tasted so good. I was so disappointed that I did not get more then one that night. I even considered getting back on my bike to pick up another one, but the cold just held me back on making another trip outside.
