Small pancake restaurant in the city center of Amsterdam. It can get noisy and a little messed up when the place is full, but the atmosphere is really nice. Staff is extremely friendly, and food is delicious! If you love huge dutch pancakes, or burgers, or even hot chocolates, this is definitely a place to go!

Tourist trap — stay away! Overpriced and mediocre in quality. I ordered the Apple Dutch pancake, which was expensive, bland, and not satisfying. Couldn’t taste the apple either,(although there must have been apple slices in it because there are Apple slice shaped burn marks all over the pancake) …so I basically paid € 8 for a thin tortilla. The waitresses working here were also very rude. If you want more bang for your buck, opt for the omelette, you definitely get a greater amount of food. Or opt for another restaurant.

I had just arrived in Amsterdam. It was before noon, so I just dumped my bags at the hotel and started heading towards downtown. I got to the flower market and while it was mega touristy, I figured this would be a fun spot to people watch. Since it was lunch time and I was by myself I could only put down one pancake. Fortunately for me the weather was nice and there was an open table for one(technically two, but it would have been cramped). I got the ham and cheese pancake and it was pretty tasty. I thought about coming here again later in my week, but there’s so many pancake shops I suspect that this place isn’t super unique in the food quality. As such, this place proved to be a good initial bar of quality to compare against.

I know it’s crappy if a tourist comes in and only wants water to drink with their meal — but my entire table ordered coffees and sodas, and they wouldn’t serve table/tap water. I had a cold and wanted to take my afternoon meds after getting some food in my stomach. Tell me it’s your old pipes or something, but combined with a rude waitress(and it’s not like they were busy!) it was a turn-off to remember as I swallowed cold medicine with hot chocolate because I wasn’t paying extra for icky mineral water I don’t like. Add in the fact that the food was just meh. So much great food in this city, and to have popped in someplace to escape rain without doing a bit of research was clearly a mistake. Apple pancake was almost tasteless. The banana-egg nog pancake sauce was super boozey, and not in an enjoyable way. No strawberries for the strawberry/ice cream pancake — but come on angry waitress, you didn’t need to tell my friend that information like she was asking for something off menu? We didn’t linger, and quickly made our way to browse through the flower market instead…

Start with the positives, really charming inside. Great location(sit in the window so you can people watch… because you will be there awhile) in the heart of the flower market. Very good food(I had a ham & cheese pancake and a few bites of a strawberry dessert pancake). I wanted to give 4 starts but the service didn’t earn it. They were busy I suppose(it was raining) but the servers were rather snooty(the first time I’ve experienced this during my trip) and basically ignored guests(universally). Note they only take cash!

Ate a pancake here that was okay, took ages before we could order and the waitress was quite rude, she basically just threw down the things when she served too. I do not recommend this place.

Huge, plate-sized pancakes. My apple pancake could have done with a bit more apple in it but my wife’s ham and cheese pancake was excellent. A little pricey, but tasty. Bonus star for having a cat rambling around.

I came here because of all the positive reviews I read on Unilocal. It’s located across from the floating flower market, so it was a pleasant stroll to get here. The restaurant has a quaint old-fashioned look and feel, and they had an English menu, yay! I really wanted to try the poffertjes(small, fluffy pancakes), so I decided to go all-out and order the small pancakes with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries. It was delicious! Usually, I prefer Belgian waffles over pancakes, but these were probably the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. So light and fluffy, perfectly Q, and the toppings/sides were delicious! I didn’t need to add anything else to it, but I wanted to try all the condiments on the table, so I poured a bit of maple syrup and put powdered sugar on some it. My bf got eggs on bread, which didn’t look like anything special, but I tried a bite, and it was quite nice with lots of sunny-side up fried eggs on toast. I also decided to try their hot chocolate, which was fine, but nothing spectacular.

Good for a simple breakfast if you’re in the center and feel like being a bit of a tourist. Prices are good but beware, they are cash only and only tell you with the bill.

Had an excellent late breakfast of poffertjes(puffy little silver dollar pancakes) with just butter and sugar. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Outstanding coffee, too. Friendly service and very good location along the flower market.

I enjoyed the late breakfast here. The food was delicious and service prompt and friendly. The pancakes are huge and other portions just as large. Great location and you pay more for that. Cash only.

Very simple menu but if you’re coming here for pancakes & are in the area it’ll work just fine. The pancakes were tasty but I wish I had tried the apple instead of the Grand Marnier as it was just a shot of liquor with a plain pancake. I was expecting it to be a special sauce or something sweeter. The banana-egg nog pancake was good — bananas in the pancake and a cup of egg-nog flavored sauce on the side. Prices are about 8 euros each, which is to be expected in that area. We went to this location as it was close to the tulip area.
