We came here twice. There are very few seats here although there are some space upstair where you can sit. The 1st time we ordered lemper, jagung and salty egg. Lemper was not good but the salty egg was good. The 2nd time, we ordered nasi rames with 4 vegetable dishes, salty egg and dadar with coconut inside. Unfortunately the nasi rames wasn’t so great. The 2 other items were good, however.

To me there are 2 reasons to go to Toko Joyce: 1. Their superb super hot sambal badjak. 2. Their great ikan peteh, fish with twisted cluster beans. Read my blog to check what this fish tastes like.

Toko Joyce propose un large choix de plats Indonésiens à emporter. La nourriture est plutôt bonne.
Petit bémol sur le service assez pressant lors du choix des assortiment, lorsqu’il faut choisir entre plusieurs plats dont les noms, même traduits en anglais, né sont pas très causants.

My husband and I wanted to try some Indonesian while we were in Amsterdam since there aren’t too many Indonesian restaurants where we live. We happened to pass Toko Joyce during lunch time one day and decided to stop in. We had no idea what anything was, so we just chose what looked good to us — my husband got the gado gado and liver and I got a tempeh dish — both were excellent. More of a take out place, but there is a small dining area upstairs if you’re looking to eat there.

Systemgastronomie mal anders. Hier kann man aus verschiedenen indonesischen Speisen auswählen.
Alles ist appetitlich angerichtet und vor den Augen sichtbar.
Die Auswahl ist gut und teilweise exotisch.
Was uns aber letztlich von einem Test abgehalten hat:
Die ganzen leckeren Speisen in der Theke sind kalt und werden in der Mikrowelle erhitzt um sie dann in einer Kunststoffverpackung angereicht zu bekommen. Das alleine muss noch nicht gegen den guten Geschmack sprechen, aber in Kombination mit einer Preispolitik nach Gewicht hat uns dann doch einen anderen Asiaten aufsuchen lassen.
Dafür ist das Ladenlokal allerdings sehr sehr sauber und das Personal gepflegt und freundlich!
