A simple menu of either ½ a chicken or a whole one, means it’s easy enough to choose the main part of your meal. Then you’ve just got to select your sides. We both went for the fries, which were cooked and salted beautifully. Nice and crisp, and a good side portion. The chicken is delicious. So well cooked and flavoured. An an absolute world away from Nando’s(& I’m quite partial to a Nando’s). And there’s plenty of it, even in a half chicken. There’s a range of condiments available and the piri piri has a real spicy hit, making it a mouth watering delight. Cracking service too, hopefully we will be back before we head home!

I got a half chicken and fries and both were beautiful, peerless even. Service was fast and friendly. Be careful with the piri piri… It’s made from Scotch bonnets and holy hell it is HOT. Delicious, house made, but really really hot.

chicken, Cole slaw, corn on the cob, that’s pretty much the menu. The chicken was good, the slaw was ok and the corn was very good. The sauces could be better. if they are going to barbecue then they should know the sauce says it all. 4 stars though for cocktails, ambience, and price! it was not expensive. Doubt I’ll be back but it was worth the trip.

Visited this place for dinner one night while staying at a hotel a couple blocks away. I wasn’t super convinced about the visit, because barbecue chicken and the typical sides seems so… un-Amsterdam and uninspired in terms of foodie options. My mind was changed over the course of the meal though, as everything my colleague and I had for dinner was wonderfully made and delicious. The menu is pretty classic for a chicken barbecue-type restaurant, You choose between a half and a full chicken and then a variety of sides. The coleslaw, in my opinion, is the real winner when it comes to the sides. The french fries(chips) and applesauce were also pretty delicious. Oh! The cheesecake with the passion fruit gel-like topping is fabulous. I’m not usually a fan of desserts, but that one was delish. The service in the crowded(it’s a smaller place) restaurant is very good as well. Our server/waitress was very sweet, helping us with a couple basic questions about the menu. This *was* one of the few restaurants we visited that didn’t seem to have a menu also available in English, but it was very simple to figure everything out and/or ask any questions about what was available. I do wish there was a bit more space between tables and whatnot. With my back to the restaurant aisle, I was afraid of backing up at the wrong moment. If the weather had been warmer, I probably would have preferred to eat outside and enjoy more table space. During our time there, a bunch of folks coming to eat would shift tables around for even a tiny bit more space from other diners. TL;DR Super yummy chicken and sides. A bit compact, seating wise, but otherwise fairly inviting. Great service. Would recommend if you’re craving barbecue or rotisserie chicken.

Such a great restaurant! Just so happened to stumble upon this place one night while in Amsterdam. Can’t say anything negative about this place. from the employees to the chill setting and of course the food. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends. Will definitely be making a trip back there!!!

This was recommended to us from a local and definitely worth the hype. It was delicious with big portions to share. We sat outside with our family and enjoyed the ambiance.

i cannot lie, i love chicken!!! and it does not get any better than this. The menu is very simple, as all they serve is coal– roasted chicken. You choose between half or whole chicken and then your can choose between 5 sides(chips, green salad, coleslaw, apple compote and maize). Your chicken is always served with homemade peri-peri sauce and mayonnaise, but my favourite is just with some freshly squeezed lemon! they have outside sitting for the sunny days. It’s advisable to go there early and be prepared to wait as they do not take reservations and normally you have to wait a bit before getting seated. if you like good chicken, this is the place to go!

Simple main choice, half chicken or whole chicken and either selection will be a good one. The hot pepper mix and onion chutney goes with it very well. The sides are good and big enough to share, I didn’t get to try dessert due to lack of room as I had the sides all to myself. The service is good felt neither rushed or left wanting. The street is active so whether with a group or alone it’s a good stop to sit outside and people watch.

The meat is good but not worth the price. You want more than just plain spit chicken if you are paying around the 20 euro mark for it. A selection of marinades would be nice if they were to go for a Nando’s style selection otherwise a long-marinaded selection should be offered. At the very least they should stuff the chickens with seasoning, stuffing or a thick sauce. I won’t go back until there is more in the way of selection.

Delicious chicken and excellent service! I ordered salad as side dish but next time I will try the fried potatoes.

yay! They do 1 thing. Chicken. And they do it well. You can order a half or whole chicken, plus all the sides you need for what almost felt like a proper canal-side BBQ. For 2, we got frites, corn on the cob and a whole kip. The chicken was charred on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. It’s pre-cut for you, so it’s easy to share. It’s got a slathering of sauce, but in case you want more — they have that, too. Sauces include piri pirir(which I could take or leave), delicious BBQ sauce, artisan ketchup and some bangin’ pickled red onions which I slopped on my frites. Moderately priced, excellent service. We’ll be going back, for sure.

I liked the concept and the interior, but no one paid any attention to us when we sat down. We had to call a waiter after a while to get some drinks and a menu. The menu looked good, straight forward(half or whole chicken) and great sides. The waiter was rude and impatient when he took our dinner order. When we finished our drinks he took empty glasses away but did not ask if we wanted another drink. Throughout the entire dinner experience he did not once smile, or come to our table without us calling him over. The food took a very long time to arrive and was brought by a friendlier waiter than the one who had been serving us so far. The sides were great, the chicken tasty but pretty dry and some bits were burned. Overall pretty poor experience, by the looks of how full the restaurant was we had hoped the food would make up for the awful service but it didn’t. We will not go back nor recommend to friends.

You can have a whole chicken or a half chicken! So it is really a place for me! Not to much choice and you can also have a Side dish. But I went for The french fries! For dessert I had The cheese cake! Also no other options! I love this place. Keep it simple!!! The service is good and The food is also good. So If your in The Mood for some chicken. You know where to go!
