De Kleine Moghul

Wow! What a pleasure this little gem was to find when on holiday some time ago. It’s been a bit over a year since I’ve had the joy of dining here, so take my review with a grain of salt. Or, better yet, go yourself and review it!
My first impression in entering this restaurant was that I had somehow magically been transported back to Berkeley in California. This is because Berkeley is famed for being a college town with charming Hippy enclaves serving delicious food amidst twinkling lights and hanging fabric decorations.
There was a bit of a wait, understandable given the small size of the aptly named ‘Little Mogul.’ The waiting continued some at the table, but that might be the one actual complaint I have of this pleasant stop.
The Saag Paneer was very good. It’s prepared in a slightly creamy manner with excellent seasoning. The Chicken Tikka Masala was also delicious. (We ordered it medium and I would advise any person who liked spicy food to just go ahead and order it spicy. By Californian standards, it was mild.) The sauce was creamy and coconut-​y with wonderful crunchy contrast offered by the nuts sprinkled on top.
I look forward to eating here on a future trip. The next time I will be sure to order it spicy and try more items!
