Honestly, we’re not too excited about Doppio. The coffee took forever to make and the wait wasn’t really worth it; the chai latte was really average and the vanilla latte was waaaaaayyyyyyy too sweet and tasted like we got it from a gas station. Maybe their regular coffee is better, but we don’t see what all the fuss is about.

I just got back from a week in Leiden and visited Doppio threee or four times, always with pleasant results. As we are family of five I went ahead and started a loyalty card and in two visits had managed to fill it up so that I got a delicious café moccha on the next visit. the kids wanted to come for the wifi, my husband and I liked the coffee and the double walled bodum glasses they serve thier drinks in are both beautiful and functional — in the end I went ahead and bought a pair to take home. I would definitely recommend any of the coffee drinks but when I stopped by with my daughter she wanted a piece of cheesecake which was less than impressive. They have a good selectionof Monin syrups and you should definitely go for the whipped cream if you order hot chocolate — it comes on its own separate little saucer so you can scoop up a little bit at a time rather than helplessly watch it dissolve before you get to eat it on the side.
