One Sunday night I was driving across the Harbour Bridge when my trusty steed/20 year old car started making very alarming noises. I actually drove it straight to Holder, left it parked outside, and went home to use Dr. Google Mechanic to diagnose what the problem was. Worried that I would need a $ 70million dollar rebuild of the car, I was pretty apprehensive when Holder called later on in the day; but turned out it was a simple, $ 300 job. Phew. I’ve been to Holder quite a bit, because they seem to do a good job and don’t charge through the nose. They also don’t look down on you if you have an old car, like some other mechanics I’ve been to. They’re also very friendly, and actually do call you to talk prices before doing work. Finally, they have a couple of courtesy cars you can hire for $ 20/day.
