Animal Ark

That smell. That rustic, slightly dirty smell of the pet shop. It must be a mixture of hay and hair and poop. The smell at Animal Ark is so strong you can get a whiff of it from a little way down the road. I don’t mind this as I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad smell. It’s kind of homey and reminds me of my childhood.
I think Animal Ark is a really authentic pet shop. It’s got that real, down to earth feel to it and it seems like the staff are all actually major animal lovers and are passionate about their jobs. There are always little dogs behind the counter or sitting with the shop assistants. I’ve never actually bought a pet from here but I’ve visited hundreds of times over the years, awed over the kittens and bunnies and bought the occasional collar or de worming meds. I like it… good pet shop.
