Countdown New Lynn

Sorry, this store is poorly managed, dirty, lacks presentation and pride, tired old and needs to be updated and better managed.
Staff: — are the worse you can come across, disinterested or lack customer service. Better off speaking to a brick wall. Dour lot.
Store: — Old and outdated store, boxes scattered throughout the store both during the day and night. I understand night staff need to stock shelves, but during the day, still piles of boxes left on the ground. Poorly presented vege/​fruit old and outdated produce.
Sales: — Items are either crammed onto shelves so you end up having some items fall to the ground when you grab an item or they have a 3 for 5 deal, except for some reason or other, instead of grouping the items some of them are spread apart from one another, so you have to walk further down the store to find it. Not only that, they dump boxes in the middle of the floor with a sales sign on it, I mean come on, take time and put them on a shelf for goodness sake.
Countdown does not take their complaints seriously. They give assurances they are working on the issue, but complaints are not followed up. It doesn’t help them when I have a cousin working at their call center.

This is your normal, standard Countdown supermarket. It is one of the ones that open 24/​7, which is good at times, has the same layout as I think of the majority of the Countdown’s in the country. So no surprises here. The place is clean and kept tidy as can be and the staff are helpful if need be. Like all other Countdown’s you can use the Onecard here to get a few extra cents off items. They put yellow cards on the shelves with the discount price in front of items, but doesn’t always pay to buy these as if you look around the shelf there are ones of similar item which are better value to buy. And it has a lotto counter attached. As it’s our local we use it the most, but just about the same as using any Countdown anywhere in country. Just your average supermarket.
