Emperor Lounge

Impressive lounge, worth a visit. Came here for a stop on my travels and was thoroughly impressed. I stopped in late at night, around 11pm, and was happy to see they were open and still completely stocked with food and beverages. They usually close at 11pm, but will stay open for late flights. The food selection was plentiful: fruits, snacks, rice, chicken, soup… and unlimited drinks and alcohol! To top it off they have two shower rooms. The lounge is spacious and a nice retreat away from the airport. Only complaints were the bathroom/​showers could have been tended to better. Great lounge, not quite up to Centurion level, but worth a visit.

In the world of airport lounges, Emperor Lounge is far from the best. Sure, it certainly still gets the job done but competition is stiff in the lounge game — gotta keep up!
You’ll get everything you expect from a middle of the road lounge upon entry. A friendly face will check you in and then you’re on your own. The bathrooms are tidy and although I didn’t choose to shower due to time restraints, it’s nice to know that the option is there for longer layovers.
The complementary booze selection is standard and the fridges are well-​stocked with mountains of mixers, white wine and cold beer. They do actually offer a small selection of hot food, which happened to be Indian inspired on my second visit to the lounge — I didn’t bother checking on my first visit. There is also a small selection of cheeses, some fresh fruit and two different soups, all refilled when in short supply.
All in all, not bad. It seems that people either, A: don’t know about this lounge, leaving it quiet and stale, or B: there’s something better around the corner and I simply missed out.
