Mojo is one of those small but perfectly formed cafes. There’s not a whole lot of seating, especially if the weather is poor(half the seating is outside) but it a great spot to pick up a coffee to-go or have a 1:1 catch up. Originally from Wellington, I find their coffee pretty grunty — a LB powers me through to lunch time. I’m a fan, but this morning I went with Mum who thought her coffee tasted a bit bitter — could’ve just been an off day though… Also, i’m not normally a scone fan but their dates ones are the best i’ve tried in Auckland. They’re not too dry and have a good hit of orange. My one gripe is that they serve their butter cold, which makes it somewhat challenging to spread. I’m not often in the CBD these days, but when I am Mojo is definitely high on my list!

Mojo is literally a 10 second walk from my work so it’s a great place to grab a hot drink anytime of the day! I recommend getting a takeaway drink and enjoy it while sitting in Freyburg Square up the road(Guess this would be only good in Summer!) The reason for this is at the usual ‘coffee times of the day’ it is very busy and because there are only about 6⁄8 bar stools, chances are you won’t get a seat! I wish they would expand their premises, because they do make a nice cappuccino /chai latte /hot chocolate! Plus they have a range of goodies at the counter — I’ve only tried a chocolate chip cookie, but it was absolutely delicious!!!
