Ahh, can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place until now! Geez… I discovered this place almost four years ago when I first moved to NZ from Australia. This place caught my eye because it is a ‘lil bit different, and I like that. I also like their delicious range of cookies, hot chocolates, anns small, cute ‘lil abode. Staff have always seemed friendly and helpful too.
Also, it is right next door to the wonderful Civic Theatre, so that final 5^th star goes to them for location.

This is such a cute wee shop. The cookies are amazing ! The Whitakers hot chocolate isn’t as good as I thought it would be, even though it is still very yummy, I just think people may have talked it up too much to me!
It’s a very small shop though and doesn’t have much seating, which is a shame as it would be a very nice place to sit down and have a coffee in.

The chocolate chunk cookie is amazeballs! Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside with huge chocolate chips oozing out. Being body-​conscious, I normally don’t eat cookies, but these taste so light and fluffy that I could probably devour several without feeling the need to stick a finger down my throat. That’s when you know it’s a good cookie.

Great coffee place! Nice authentic concept, away from the omnipresent Starbucks.
With the quality of their cookies I suggest they expand their offerings to cakes etc.
but first you must trie the chocolate-​peanut butter cookie.
On a side note: the coffee is as it should be. And goes great with the cookies.

Tiny super cute cookie & milk bar. The place is so darn cute & even tho it is tiny; you still can enjoy the most scrumptious cookies while sitting. 3 cookies for $ 10. The cookies are large, thick & melt in your mouth. You will not be sorry.

need I say more? No, but seriously, delicious, soft, chewy nutella filled cookies can be found here. Even better is when you get them warm. Highly recommend this place for someone craving some delicious cookies.
I have also tried the cinnamon cookie and it was quite delicious as well.

Delicious cookies! The smell is AMAZING you simply cannot walk past it without going in AMD getting a cookie… My favorite is the snickers one…

Best Cookie and Milk bar in Auckland! I can’t handle the idea they are closing their doors but I truly hope they can build the milk and cookie bus because Auckland deserves (and needs!!!) Moustache’s cookies! Nutella, oreo and marshmallows and cinnamon are worthy a try and be sure you’re gonna be addict to these delicious pieces of happiness.

I am a huge fan of milk and cookies, so I was really excited when Moustache opened!
My absolute favourite cookie at Moustache is the Oreo Marshmallow — it tastes great and looks so appealing in the jar! I also like the Snickers Bar, Choc Chunk and Peanut Butter. I like eating these will a glass of normal milk or chocolate milk. So delicious!
I haven’t tried their milkshakes yet, but friends tell me that the Peanut Butter one and the Vanilla one are to die for!
I would say the only downside is the size of the shop — there are only a few seats, so I don’t recommend coming in with a big group. However, if you are going to see a movie around the corner, then I recommend coming to Moustache, buying a range of cookies and eating them while watching the movie! They are a delicious alternative to popcorn and ice creams that you would normally order at the cinema!
So, if you’re in need of a sweet (or chocolatey) fix, I recommend going to Moustache as it always hits the spot!

I was a little apprehensive about Moustache, due to my hatred of the current social obsession with well groomed facial hair. However, I am unable to judge a cookie establishment before at least testing the wares, so I squeezed myself into their tiny store and chose a cookie to nom. It was delicious. The staff had picked me one straight out of the oven, rather than a cold one from the display jar, which increased my enjoyment tenfold. Since then I’ve ventured Instore numerous times and always enjoyed the cookies and the service even more so. It’s stood the test of time and is becoming an auckland CBD institution, rather than just another foodie fad.

Sweet little place off Queen St that makes delicious cookies and great milkshakes. I can highly recommend the espresso milkshake made with a double shot of espresso. A great place to pause during a shopping afternoon.

Firstly the smell wafting out from the inside drew us inside and secondly we had walked past here many a time and always wondered what it was like. At them times it had always been full of customers and so we gave it a miss, and as you may or may not know it has very little room within. Anyway this time the smell could not be resisted and luckily the place was empty of any life bar the people working there. Excellent timing!!! Especially as it filled up not long after we had taken two of the very few seats within to sit and enjoy our milkshakes and cookie. (we are trying to diet thus one cookie between two!!) Choosing from the cookie jars on the counter was a little hard but we eventually chose a cinnamon cookie which was absolutely delicious! I had a Cookies and Cream milkshake and my better half a Milo milkshake… and the same experience here… both equally as delicious as the cookie! The décor etc on the inside gave it for us a atmosphere where it was easy to sit and relax, not like some places where the décor is too sterile and boring. But hey what else could this place be like as that is the kind of place aims to be… laid back. I love all the old style milk bottles lying around, hanging around and how your milkshake is even served in one. Really brings back memories of my younger schooldays and the compulsory bottle of milk. Ah… sweet memories. I have to admit though I am partial (in fact love) to another make of cookie whose name I will not mention, the experience at Moustache has really hit my tastebuds spot on and given me an experience that I will definitely venture back for again. Lets hope it will be just as memorable and it is always good to support an independent shop if one can. Still I have my loyalty undying to another make I can fall back on if need be!

Moustache is teensy tiny but what’s it lacks in size it makes up for in character. This place is freakin’ adorable and the smell, heavenly!
Large cookies are stored in oversized glassed jars on the jars — take you pick and then choose a milk or Eighthirty coffee to go with. These cookies are cheap but they sure are tasty and i’d much rather support an independant business owner than a cookie chain (not naming names or anything…).
Take note, there is very limited seating inside so plan to get your cookies to go!

Who knew that a little cookie shop could become so popular?! But seriously, there is good reason that Moustache is always packed with people: they make amazing cookies that will rival any you’d find in a bakery… or even from your grandmother’s oven.
Crisp on the edges, soft and buttery in the middle, and laden with large chunks of Whittaker’s chocolate — yeah, I think I’ve found my chocolate chip cookie nirvana. If you’re as big a cookie monster as me, then you absolutely have to try Moustache out. And it’s not called a «Milk and Cookie Bar» for no reason — don’t forget your good ol’ Dunking Milk (take your pick from plain, chocolate and strawberry) to wash it all down! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milkshakes make up the rest of their simple menu.
Decked out with vintage milk bottles and milk crates, and featuring a chalkboard wall with an entirely hand-​written menu, the interior of Moustache very much has an old-​school, nostalgic ambience — unpretentious and cosy.

Comfort food at its finest. It took me a long time to try out Moustache but I’m so glad I finally did. This place is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth and anyone wanting a taste of their childhood.
Located in the middle of town it is a cookie-​lovers haven. I am not a milk fan, but the novelty of being able to sit on a bar stool and dunk one of these baby’s into a cold glass of milk (in a jar, v on-​trend) is just classic.
The cookies are delicious and freshly made in-​store with a huge selection including the ‘cookie of the week’. I tried the Oreo-​marshmallow ice-​cream sandwich, a definite must try! If one was watching their waist-​line it could be a big mistake to step inside this tiny little store, everything is so delicious it’s impossible to say no.
I’m not saying it’s going to become a regular hangout for me, but I think it’s a must for any aucklander looking to treat themselves!

Heaven for those with a sweet tooth. Three cookies for ten bucks and so many different flavours to choose. .when thy have a cookie of the week., word spreads so you might expect to wait in line.
Its cute and cosy inside with just a few seats where you can even watch the cookie making. I wouldnt say I felt a hipster vibe, more a im back at primary school and I love it-​life couldn’t be simpler vibe.
I’ve heard the hot chocolate is to die for.

I dig the concept but was less impressed with the cookie quality. I tried the cinnamon, white chocolate and macadamia, and Oreo marshmallow. All three lacked the crispy to chewy ratio I require to consider a cookie excellent. Each cookie was soft but not chewy and lacked crispness all together.
The novelty of a milk and cookie bar is sweet and this spot is worth a shot if you’ve got a hankering, I just wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

How many times have you started drooling through an American movie as a child dunks hot cookies in cold milk or the setting changes to a classic milk bar? Stranger than Fiction. A Clockwork Orange. Back to the Future…
Now shrink that milk bar in you mind down to a more intimate and friendly version (where the staff don’t just stand around polishing glasses), sneak the store in just off Queen st and plonk yourself down on a stool. If you’re lucky. The hype that exploded across social media before the opening of this store still hasn’t died down, and it’s perfectly justifiable. Real cookies being rolled out just to your right. Huge chunks of Whittakers chocolate. New exciting flavours each week or for special events. Premium ingredients. Gift cards…
This boutique establishment has an almost unfair advantage on any competitors.

You need strong willpower to walk past this place without going in. Sometimes I manage it, but more often that not I find myself walking inside, unable to ignore that delicious smell of cookies. And what fine cookies they are — chunks of Whittaker’s chocolate and an array of ever changing flavours (including carrot cake cookies and red velvet flavoured)!
All my friends from out of town want me to take them to this place when they arrive in Auckland.
My top 3 are chocolate chunk, black forest and the white chocolate and macadamia.
I can also recommend the salted caramel milkshake.

I think I may have stumbled upon the hipster centre of the universe.
For a start, the logo is a Moustache, for goodness’ sakes. It’s on their sign outside, it’s on their home-​madey brown paper bags, it’s on their takeout cups. Second, it’s a milk and cookie bar. I kid you not, milk and cookie.
And of course the interior matches the rest of the vibe, from the chandelier made of old-​fashioned (oh I’m sorry, old-​school) milk bottles, to the enormous glass jars of cookies and the blackboard menu. If you are hip enough to enter, or just desperate enough for a sugar hit, you’ll find the cookies are mouth-​wateringly good.
I recommend a milk shake and an exploration of the some of the more interesting flavours, like Oreo, peanut butter, and Nutella, as well as any of the delicious Harney and Sons teas. Visit a few times and then let me know if you butt will fit on their miniscule seats.
